Greetings all,

First off, I have been trolling this forum for a couple months know, and am always amazed at the huge amount of information available here. Whether you are a new vaper, novice, or experienced vaper there is seems to be the place to be. I was referred to this sire by my brother, VaperinMaine, and I am glad I took him up on it. Since ECF requires a new member to post 5 times in the new members forum, here goes.

About Me:

I am a divorced Army Vet living in Copperas Cove, TX where I grew up. Yes, I am close to my roots, or as close as I can be. I bought a house only two blocs from the old High School I attended. I could afford a nicer & newer house, but I like it here. No desire to keep up with the Jones's, and my house and I are close to age... and I like to think my old house and I have bonded. After tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and duty stations ranging from Kentucky, Virginia, to New York and Texas, I am glad to be back home and grounded again. I am also a Harley owner, and ride as often as I can. Next to breathing and eating, riding is my favorite thing to do.

Now to what brought me here ultimately. Like many others, I started smoking at a young age. Little did I know back then that smoking would become an habit that would span several decades, taking a toll on my health and wallet over the years. I saw an ad online for V2 Cigs, and immediately bought a starter kit, then a couple extra batteries, usb pass through device, and lots of cartridges. My vaping had started. That was march of 2013, and I had smoked for well over 30 years and was finally free. Well that attempt lasted only two months. What ultimately caused my failure was a failure on my part to keep an adequate supply of cartridges on hand, and think far ahead enough to order in advance so I wouldn't run out. Back to smoking I went. Then at the end of November last year I was sick & tired of smoking, and to my amazement a new Vape Shop opened in my home town. Technology had advanced at the point and I had no idea all the options available to me now. I bought two eco-C Twist batteries, a couple Kanger Protank II's, a few bottles of juice and off I went. On Dec 5th, I smoked my last cigarette.

My vape experience has evolved since then, and even though I consider myself a new vaper, I have progressed quite rapidly. I quickly found out that Kanger built crappy coils, and started rebuilding my own. I now can build a coil that will last a long time, hit and draw consistently, and I also build them for a friend locally. I have also upgraded to VV/VW mods, and mech mods as well. I still use Protank II's and own many, but I also still use my ego twists, and Mini Protanks as well. My current daily habit involves bringing a few tanks loaded with different juices with me to the office, and I vape on a Smoktech SID which has proven to be a reliable Mod, and a dependable workhorse. When I ride, I bring along an ego twist and a couple Min PT II's, and that works great. At home I have recently been experimenting with RBA's. I bought an AGA-T2 and successfully build a couple coils & wicks and was pretty amazed at the intense vapor production as well as flavor. My latest purchase was a new Smoktech Pyrex RSST, and I think I have found my new favorite. I'm ok with a single coil, love 400 SS mesh, and I have built an equally satisfying wick out of ecko wool. For ease of use & setup, my wick of choice is 400 SS Mesh, and around it I do a 4/3 wrap of 28ga Kanthal. I'm getting consistent resistances of .8-.9ohm. I drilled out the air hole with a 1/16th bit...and the draw is great, flavor is great, and vapor production is great. I'm by no means a cloud chaser, but I can fill my living room, truck cab, and office easily.

I have babbled long enough though. I just wanted to introduce myself, get my mandatory 5 posts out of the way, and participate more in this forum more. Even though I have been not been doing this long, I already find myself helping folks out locally.

Have a great day, and Thanks for a great forum. Also Thanks to VaperinMaine for the referral.

Happy vaping!

Congrats on making the full switch and welcome (officially) to the forum :toast:

You're well into it, and good for you for not shying away from the deep end of vaping - the rewards will continue for you. Feel free to dive in and help out folks new to vaping; that's one of the hallmarks of this place (as you've discouvered). By the looks of it, we'll be seeing you around a lot. Look forward to it.

Thanks folks!
