Hi Everyone,

I've been a lurker for about a month or so and thought I would start posting a little.

I quit smoking (unexpectedly) about 2 months ago and just love my EGO One and Aspire and my favorite juices. I'm just so thankful I found this stuff. I decided to try to cut down on 2 months ago because I was alarmed that I was beginning to smoke over a pack a day. Packs in Canada have 25 cigarettes in them, so it's quite a bit. I had a morning cough every day and was constantly having to clear my throat before speaking.

I downloaded a little app that put together a 44 day plan kept track of how many cigarettes I was "allowed" to smoke every day. And then I got another app that kept track of how much time had to elapse between each cigarette for me to meet the target. I did fine for about 2 weeks and then some of the cravings just got ridiculous and I was having trouble getting through the day. I couldn't work properly or concentrate on anything else.

I had just moved a new neighborhood and in my walks around town exploring I noticed a vape shop that had opened nearby. I ended up going there with the idea of just getting something cheap that I could use for a few puffs here and there to get through some of the worst cravings. I got some really nice juice by a local company there as well that I still love.

As it turned out, I loved those little emergency puffs so much I missed all of my scheduled cigarettes the rest of that first day. And the next. What was left in my pack got thrown out on Day 2. The lighters and ashtrays went after 2 weeks. Amazing. I don't cough any more, don't have to clear my throat any more. My nasal passages are clearer than at any point in the last 2 years. I'm a jogger/runner too and can't wait to see if my running will improve. Just waiting for the weather up here in Canada to get a bit nicer before starting my season.

A few days ago I got a package of organic cotton and started fooling around with rewicking the (puny little) coils on my EGO One. Wow! How nice to have great full taste every time I change flavors. Wasn't that hard at all.

I do have one question for the experts regarding rewicking. My current technique of cleaning the coil before I rewick involves doing a dry burn and then, following the advice of the guys at my local shop, holding the coil under hot running water and repeating that process 2-3 times until the metal of the coil starts looking clean and shiny again. It's been working well but the thing that I'm worried about is the possibility of a battery short and an explosion/shock when holding the coil under the hot water tap. I'm obviously not pushing the button on my mod when I'm doing that, but I am worried abut doing that subconsciously one day when the process becomes routine. I've been thinking it would be way safer to detach the coil from the mod when doing that rinse. What do you guys do?

Not sure which coils you are talking about. Tank or RDA? Need clarification.

Just, hit "like" at bottom right hand corner and I (or someone else) can read your answer.

I use the CL coils. After two or three tankfuls I rebuild new vertical coils and wick and install . I would defiantly take the tank off and take the coil out. I use coils a lot like yours in the Innokin Isub. I take out wick and soak in denture cleaner for 20 miniutes and then rinse. Then soak in clean water for 1/2 hour or so. Let them dry over night and then dryburn and rewick. I usually soak about 6 or seven coils at a time and do then all at once. CHEERS!

OK, so wash before the dry burn, not after? Doesn't the dry burn break the caking of gunk off and then you need a rinse to get it off?

Welcome! I just got a coil building lesson at my local store, and I was also told to rinse AFTER the dry burn. I can't remember why. But I also had the same question as you, about sticking the battery under (or at least very close to) running water. He just sort of brushed it off, but it doesn't sound like a great idea to me.

Edited to add: I forgot to say congratulations on quitting smoking!! Feels wonderful, doesn't it?
