Hello all!

I'm a baby e-cig user, just over a month in and I dove head first into the world of vaping. I started off with a Kanger Subtank Mini on an iStick 30w. I now have a Tugboat and Mutation X V4 RDA, an eGo One, and the Kanger Subox. I have already gotten into making my own coils (getting the wick thickness just right is a ....H) and I recently just bought supplies for DIY ejuice and will be getting into that soon. Like I said, I dove head first. I would like to mention that I have done extensive research for both coil building (batteries, Ohm's Law, VV/VW oh my!) and ejuice mixing (I decided to go with pre-mixed 6mg and 3mg/20PG/80VG base, so I don't have to worry about messing with straight nicotine) in case anyone is concerned about my ventures.

I love love love hobbies that take some skill and craft to master - hell, its why I brew my own beer! - and had I known that quitting smoking could be so much fun, I would have done it years ago! So Greetings and thanks to the forum for having already helped me in this adventure :)

Welcome Nonnie!

SOOOOO Very glad you did some homework FIRST re: coil building, etc. Sadly, I see too many folks who hop on and ask if "wrapping a paperclip around a nail will let them blow huge clouds"

Re: the DIY stuff, do make note that your pre-mixed nic will drop a bit as you add flavor. I was "tense" at first with mixing, but it's really not all that difficult. I measure my flavors (typically in the 20-30% range) and use a 60mg/ml base to get my levels (typically multiples of 3) then top with VG (or sometimes 50/50 or 25p/75v) depending on what I'm mixing. The freedom to make what I want when I want is pretty awesome!

Welcome to the club and enjoy your stay!

Thankfully I have a friend who has been vaping for a while and I inadvertanly absorbed some information from him about battery safety, coils, wicking material and such. Even so, I vaped on my "starter kit" for a couple weeks while lurking in the forums to gather more knowledge lol.
When I found out my Subtank Mini had an RTA, it was a downward spiral of hobby addiction from there...

Yeah I realized the premixed base + flavoring would alter the concentrations of nic/pg/vg after even more forum lurking/reading, but I'm ok with that as long as my flavors will end up vapeable. Finding a calculator that allows for a premixed base, however, has proven to be a futile search. Hence why I haven't ventured into DIY just yet, but I will tackle that monster soon enough... once my stock of vendor juice is exhausted, I will be freed from shipping costs and juices I don't like ;)
