Hello, I am Sky and I just want to say what a great forum this is. I am currently somewhat new to vaping (quit smoking around a month ago now) and I absolutely love it. I am avidly looking for more information on vaping, and want to expand my knowledge on this as since I have quit smoking I feel 100 times better. If I can quit, and got my mom to quit, I would like to be able to help others to quit as well. I know I am still a "newbie" to the vape community, but I plan to be in this for the long haul, and this seems to be by far the most comprehensive site for information, and from the few threads I have thumbed through, everyone really seems friendly (which I like).

Wow! You already got your mom to quit, too?! Three :toast:s to you, Sky!! Big-time congrats! You're totally right about this forum. We're all pretty excited to have finally found a way off of analogs, and we're eager to help others do the same in any way that we can. I hope you do stick around, and please don't hesitate to ask any questions along the way, as you're sure to get a wealth of answers and opinions. Welcome, and enjoy your vape:vapor:!

yes, it is something I am divulging bit into, I feel like I pheen for a vape sometimes, but mostly because of the flavoring. The way I look at it if I can get atleast 10 personal people that I know to quit smoking, chances are they will get a few people and so on and so forth. Heck I would have probably not quit had a good friend of mine absolutely quit and start vaping. Also, except for the upfront cost, such as a batt and a tank or two and some fluid the repeat business of buying fluid is way cheaper than smoking analogs. That alone should be anough of a reason for people to quit smoking. No wonder why "big Tobacco" is up in arms crying over e-cigs. :)

Since I'll be turning 50 in July, and considered 'over the hill', I've noticed something strange about 'older folks'. Maybe most of them are too set in their ways or something, but every time I try to show/and explain my eGo setup to long-time smokers (or former smokers) who are older than me, including my Dad, they look at it like it's some strange ray gun from the Planet Yrir. I even had one aunt say to me, and I quote, "But you're STILL smoking!" I wish I was making that up.

Yup. Sad to say, but a lot of folks have said just that, Mountain_Rain96. No one in my family could believe it when I FINALLY got my 84-year-old great aunt to make the switch. You could pretty much hear her coughing and wheezing from a block away:p, and now that's a thing of the past:2cool:! I will say, it did take a $$ REO for Aunt Rose, but that's because even she would admit that she's one of the most stubborn people to ever walk the earth:laugh:! Just be patient, persistent, but always understanding in your efforts, and if you can, demonstrate both the filling and cleaning of various heating-elements. BTW, Mountain_Rain, you're nowhere near over the hill, buddy, and you're doing a super job helping our new members here:)!

Thank you for the kind words, you have made my day. And I'm not just saying that. :)

But, when you all help people stick with it here on the forum, you are essentially doing just that. When I fell off the wagon in the middle of my 3 1/2 years, it was only the support, advice, and encouragement that I received on ECF that got me back on board. I'd started with miserable cartridges full of blue aquarium foam, and folks pointed me in the direction of all the advancements that had been made in both batteries and heating-elements, and, VOILA!, I'm now confident that cigarettes are %100 history:)!

All I got to say is keep your head up hvac, for me it was a personal choice, although "good" juice always helps. I find that there are different strokes for different folks, so with that in mind, with dilligence you might find that flavor that will make a family member/close friend quit. It was easy for my mom to quit because I up and quit and then I told her how bad those analogs smelt and tasted and she tried mine and loved it. Her personal favorite so far is a cheesecake because she can actually taste the cheesecake. At the end of the day if the said person isn't ready to quit "smoking" and move to vaping chances are they won't.

P.S. I tend to get irritated when people around me say I am still smoking, just because I like to seperate myself from them, so i correct them and say no I'm vaping, which usually tends to them asking questions.
