Hello All-

Just joined up after lurking for the past few weeks. Smoked for 20 yrs, quit for 6, realized I still liked it & started smokin again for a year. Tried one of the first gen ecigs, thought it sucked & smoked again for 6 months. Bought an ego-t kit, used it on & off for another year & picked up a Coolfire 1 & iclear 30b about a month back & have just been using this apart from one or two cigs a few weeks back. Using 12mg nic strength, smooth tobacco fluid. I really like the taste of a vanilla one that I bought, but after reading about some chemical used to give it that buttery flavour am hesitant about buying more of that. Never seen nicotine sold in Canada & am a bit wary mixing it p myself, so just buying store-bought fluids for the time being. Still WAY cheaper than smoking.. Added to that cheapness by pulling apart old laptop battery packs for the good cells (Gotta love how common the 18650's are) and so have about 40 standby batteries available now..:)

Anyhow, thanks for all the info I've gleaned & I look forward to learning more.

I have recently started mixing my own liquids and am enjoying the flavours I've done so far. Its all about the flavour concentrates, there are probably thousands....and I have tried 6 lol. Still buying the store stuff too as I am a tobacco flavour kinda guy but haven't managed to mix one up that I really like yet. I bought a kit with every thing I needed which made it really simple too.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

Sorry to have to tell you that your 18650 laptop batteries are not good for use in Mods.:( Save them for use in your flashlights. Mods require IMR (Li-MN) or IMR/Hybrid, high drain, safe-chemistry, batteries.

Below is a blog post by Baditude (our resident battery/safety expert).

They're Panasonic ones...:) No extra heat when in use & with my setup, no vv/vw so it's hard to *really* drive them. I do electronics / RF work & the whole Ohm's law thing is very basic stuff for me. They're safe to use, but thanks for letting me know. Bad batteries without the full knowledge of them is a very bad thing indeed. Once I move up to a better setup, I'll likely buy new ones as the age of these aren't known, but in the meantime, they work great..
