Hello all...

I've been a smoker for over 25 years...usually less than a pack a day, but still a smoker. My boss went to vaping about 3 years ago, and he quit analog cigs within a week or so...after being a smoker for 40 years. I asked him questions about his e-cigs, but I didn't think too much of it until a few weeks ago. I helped a sound engineer friend do an equipment load in for a show. Carrying several not really that heavy FOH speakers winded me a great deal, and that's what got me thinking that maybe I should try e-cigs. I asked my boss about it on a Saturday, and he just happened to have a complete spare setup with a vv battery and a brand new clearomizer, and he loaned the setup to me so I could try it. At first I was not convinced...it just didn't feel right. I was determined to give it a real shot though, and started paying attention to how I used a real cig. Then I vaped as close to the same way I did a real cig as possible...I hit the same way, went outside to smoke, tried to do the same frequency and so on. A funny thing happened: I started to hate the real cig. The last real cig I had was 4 days ago, and I hated it. I've now been exclusively vaping for 4 days, have no desire for a real cigarette, and until I got a cold was feeling lots better. My wife is also convinced, and she is now mostly vaping. We spent about $90 on vaping this week with two brand new setups, juice, extra clearomizers and all, but the thought of saving money, feeling better, and not smelling like smoke is a good thing. One question...what am I going to do with the unopened packs of analog smokes we still have? LOL. Anyway, looking forward to getting on the forum and learning more.

Cheers all!!!

Welcome to ecf, Rowlf! Good for you! I'll tell you what to do with those stinky ol analogs: dump them in the trash :). If you can get through 4 days, you can get through a lifetime. Two suggestions: get a backup so you'll never be without a mod, and don't try to reduce your Nic level too quickly. Good luck!

Hello and welcome to the forum @rowlf914. Glad to have you here!:)

What setups did you purchase for yourself and your wife?

We got the Innokin itaste vv 3 with (I think) T2 clearomizers. We each have one clearomizer each of regular tobacco flavor and caramel nut. I've been analog free since this past Wednesday, and my wife is quickly going analog free...she's had only one analog today and that was first thing this morning...she left the analogs at home. :)

I'd like to try a sub ohm tank, but I realize I'll have to get a different mod. I'm just happy to be off the analogs. It's a great feeling. The real test will be poker night. :)

Good thought...already planning on getting a backup mod, but since both of us have our own and we are usually together, it really shouldn't be an issue. We do have 3 spare clearomizers though. :)

I actually started feeling the semi desire for an analog just a bit ago, and I simply went outside to vape just like I would do an analog....feeling went away. Part of the smoking habit is psychological it's been said, and now I totally understand. I'm using 18 mg juice right now, but I can see over the next few months bringing that down. I've not thought about using lower level nic for now.

We got the Innokin itaste vv 3 with (I think) T2 clearomizers.
The T2 clearomizers are made of polycarbonate so be careful what you put in them. Cinnamon and citrus flavors are known to be "tank crackers".
As far as subΩ tanks, yes you will need a more powerful mod and most of the tanks are for direct lung inhaling vs mouth-2-lung.

Welcome and Congrats! Your story is fairly common as many people who start vaping suddenly find that ciggs don't compare..... As for what to do with the unopened analogs that you possess? Well, if you are into darts, you could use each pack as the bulls-eye on the dartboard. If you are into archery you could do the same thing and use them for a target. You could use them for target practice with a firearm as well. Or, there is just the plain ole trash can which is not nearly as much fun :)

Welcome and congratulations Rowlf914! As Axiom_1 said, your experience is not uncommon. I smoked for 40 years very lightly and found that when I lit a cigarette after 3 puffs I would put it out; just couldn't stand the taste anymore. And while this isn't everyone's experience, I saved a lot of money. Lots of good luck to you and your wife:thumbs:

    Cheers all!!!

When I started vaping and quit smoking (43 yr, PAD) I had 3 1/2 cartons of cigs on hand. I gave them to my SIL and BIL along with a couple of ego setups. They used the vaping setups and passed the cigs I had given and their stash of cigs to a still smoking friend.

I've heard that, bit I really have no desire for a cinnamon or citrus vape at the moment. Thanks for the tips.
