So, in keeping in mind that most of us would stand to benefit from buying in combined group-buys from vendors in the U.S or elsewhere, both in quantity buys and split shipping, should we request that we have a Co-Op or group-buy section in our Canadian forum?

Just so it's fair to the person who is keen on getting an order in, we could perhaps have a very simple rule on a group buy post. If you want in, you have 24 hours to get in, after which the original poster can assume that no one wants in, and places his/her order.

A post could go like this:

  • GTA vapers: I'm planning on placing an order from Vendor X, Dual-coil cartos, $xxx.xx. Anyone want in on that or anything else? Let me know by tomorrow.
  • Edmonton vapers: Vendor X is having a 25% sale on all their hardware. Anyone want to get in on a group buy? Let me know by tomorrow.
This would also give any eligible local vendor a chance to approach the buyer with a competitive deal if they so desire.

Everybody wins!

Thoughts?! Mods, would something like this be ok to request?

That's a fantastic idea! The amount of times that I ordered from the US or China, I could have saved a lot on shipping if I had split the shipping costs with anyone else that might have been interested.

If we don't get the approval for a dedicated co-op section/group buy section, would the mods allow us to create such threads in the regular Canada forum?

If this happens, and I agree that it's definitely something to consider, it's a symptom of the relatively poor selection by Canadian vendors. So perhaps some of them can step up and start looking to both expand their selection and also take special orders from people who are looking for something from companies they deal with. For instance there is a local guy who sells in person that I do business with and he did that for me a little while ago, I know the companies he deals with, so I asked him to throw in an order for me with it, I did let him mark it up reasonably but I got what I wanted and he made money so everyone was happy :)

How about this, if you find a juice that's good enough to order twice, you let me know, and I'll join you on the second order :)

By that token, you should have joined me for some Geoff's Blend 10 months ago, buddy. I've ordered numerous times from TV already. :)

Nevermind, I'm guessing that is for AVE or Halo only.

Well doesn't really matter, I'm either going to be buying juice solo or with the group, I'd join in on it, the only problem is meeting up with everyone after you've received the order, because if you just need to ship it out again you're not going to save any money on shipping costs. (unless you get a crazy deal because you bought so much)
