I've been smoke free since last Saturday, but these disposables have become prohibitively expensive. 10 bucks a day for Blu disposables from Walgreen's. With all of the Memorial Day celebrations and anticipated late nights this weekend, I'm definitely going to need to inhale nicotine. Guess I'll have to pick up a pack or two to get me through since V2 botched my shipping so badly.

I really needed that starter kit by today!

No, but of course, after my order shipped, I found out that there are a few retail locations here in Birmingham. Should have shopped around and picked up a retail kit here to avoid being stuck smoking this weekend. Guess I could still do that and just return my kit when it arrives. Are retail locations generally more expensive?

Retail locations are generally more expensive but more importantly you have to be careful about buying knockoffs. Went to a wake yesterday and a friend of my wife's had bought from retail- spent $120 for a 280 mah knockoff. We spoke and he took me to the car and showed me his PV which he wasn't happy with. We went to my car, loaded up a spare Kgo that I had and he was AMAZED and bought it on the spot. He's a very heavy smoker yet for the next 3 hours had no need for an analog. I prefer to buy from the ECF listed vendors as I can trust in the quality, reliability and customer service of them. The bulk of biz for "most" brics and mortars comes from new vapers. Having said that I know there are some reputable brics and mortar vendors out there.

My local store sells things for the same price as their website. Only difference is, if there's a coupon code, I can't use it. Sales tax is really the only added cost, and that often balances out against shipping costs. He is about 40m away tho, so there is the gasoline involved, but I refer to that as a convenience tax and know that I will never have to wait for USPS if I get in a pinch.

I don't consider mall kiosks to be local stores tho. And they've usually got a lot more overhead which is reflected in their prices. A good local store it seems to me is usually started by someone that had been selling online for some time and reached a point where the market justified opening B&M. I am sure vendors track where their orders come from and if they see a lot of people in their city or near by ordering (yes, you do pay sales tax ordering in state, but shipping is quicker, so convenience tax again) then they can say "Well, there's a local demand, so lets open a store). I know a lot of cities have strip malls with store fronts sitting empty and probably good affordable rent.

Okay enough rambling. :) Meh, I need to finish up my run though of the forum and get over to Star Wars Weekends and see what they have that I want but should't buy. (But probably will :) )

In Germany, the main problem with the offline stores is, that they don´t have a large range of models. So the eGo´s and maybe some cartos or a dct. Every piece is a little bit more expensive than you find it in online-shops. Normally the most difference in price is with the juices. I don´t know if it is similar in the states, but I use offline stores just for the case of an emergancy. But meanwhile I have a better sortiment and the more attractive parts at home, than all the offline stores together. Therefor, vapors living next to me, often call me, if I could help in a case of need... :2cool:

Depends on vendors.. as it does online ..

You can find things at 2x or 3x the online price of even the higher priced online vendors..

Example: a kit with 2 ego batteries 2 cones, 2 atomizers, 10ml of juice 5 cartridges a charger and a case can be had online for 35$ that same exact kit can be found for 70, 100, 125 in brick and mortar shops.. same with juices.. you will find brick and mortars selling for nearly 1$ per ml.. the exact same juice you can get for 3$ for 30 mils online.. (not talking about the custom blended juices, or higher line vendors.. talking bout mostly the generic juices that everyone has)

As always check here especially in the approved vendor forums, or simply ask if anyone knows where to get X..

Disposables are a bad value in general.. in some places there are semi-disposable (in my view) kits with charger battery and 2 cartomizers for like 20-25$ that you can then buy cartos that are 3 for 8-10$ (each carto is roughly 3 disposables worth of puffs)

Good luck with your vaping after your kit arrives! Keep asking questions !

An example as to the disparity in brics and mortar pricing. 100 km north of me 2 stores- both ECF vendors- 1 brics and mortar sells juice for approx $30 per 30 ml and eGo's for about $70. The other has a stall on weekends in a Flea Mkt and sells juice for $10.00 and eGo for $40.00. The brics and mortar store also has a Flea Mkt stall and does not discount his prices.
