I'm in Wales. It's now been 12 days since I ordered a G6 starter kit & variety sample pack from Halo. I've waited (im)patiently for it to arrive, tracking progress via USPS's tracking portal several times a day and now I've just got a status update saying; "Payment of charges - Item being held, addressee being notified"...

does anyone else get this drama when ordering from halo / the US in general? (I'm not actually blaming Halo here, they shipped my order less than 12 hours after I placed it).

When they say they are notifying me, any thoughts on how they're going to do that? and when?

When I've ordered goods from the US previously, that have been liable for import duty or VAT there has been no hold up whatsoever - they've come straight through customs in a matter of hours, and when the royal mail delivery man shows up he just says money please and either takes cash or you can ring a hotline and pay by card immediately, and you get your goods then and there....my kit has now been with customs for 6 days!

anyone got any suggestions? I can't find a UK based phone number for USPS to enquire with and the customs helpline is now closed for the weekend :(

It took me two weeks to get an equivalent of the G6 from the US. I got a volt, it arrived two weeks after I ordered it with a nice £17 VAT/import tax stamped on it before I could collect it.

If it's in customs you know where it is, just have to wait it out. I got a card through from the royal mail saying it was in the nearest post office to me waiting for me to pay extra charges. I went and paid it and got it that day no problem.

The Post Office will write to you advising there is a parcel that needs payment of charges before they can deliver it. You have to ring up and pay or pay online - Royal Mail Fee2pay - Pay online if your item has a surcharge fee

I don't think they do the collecting fees on delivery thing any more. They always send a card out, and yes it takes ages...

Don't cha just love our country. had a card through the door saturday morning. £17.90 to pay. £9.90 VAT - fair cop.... £8 "handling charge" for parcel force pre-paying the VAT and expecting me to reimburse them the £9.90 VAT and pay them £8 for the privilege of them doing something I am perfectly capable of doing myself. They even had the gall to want me to cough up £12.00 for next day delivery of the goods I've already paid delivery for!!! I feel a written complaint coming on :(

They even held the parcel at a depot 18 miles away - as opposed to the depot that is 1 mile away on the edge of town. ....... In theory, 18 miles would be a 30 minute trip according to google maps. local knowledge however tells me that it's a minimum of an hour each way due to epic motorway maintenance between here and there.

Oh well. all paid up, should have my G6 tomorrow!!! mega excited :> I've felt like every cig i've smoked for the last fortnight has been killing me :(
