Hi Everyone.
I'm so puzzled. When I lived in the UK and bought new eleaf gs air dual l coils from my street vendor my coils always worked fine. Now I'm in India and have ordered the same coils from Amazon UK from two different reputed seller which friends have brought over and I keep getting coils that give an incredibly burnt taste even after they have soaked in all night. 4 out of ten will work.

Any idea why this is happening the coils look genuine with good eleaf packaging?
I use a 20 watt istick eleaf battery

Am so confused

I am puzzled too, as I heard the same story last week on AAEC UK.

Bad 'success rate' with GS coils.

I am working on a theory that some changes have been going on. The newest 'pure cotton' coils are so far, flawless. The original Eleaf GS air tank coils (from 1+ years ago) are definitely NOT the same.

The man I know was buying clone coils from China (don't even come in Eleaf boxes, have nothing to do with Eleaf) so I wasn't that sympathetic.

Guessing your's are genuine, is there any identification on them. Maybe you are just using the old coils... and they were hit and miss (more so)... ??

What Watts are you running your 20 at?
I prime the coils by putting 2-3 drops directly in the hole in the top of the coil,

I hope the issue gets resolved, it's a great tank!

Out of the box i'm using the "GS Air Pure Cotton Head(1.2ohm) ", priming the two side holes with juice and after a few minutes i could use them. The cotton wick seems to feed better, and with the two holes they are easier to rebuild, when used up.
Sure could use your input on rebuilding the 1.2 coils over her at this thread!
Eleaf GS Air Fan : Part 2
What gauge wire you use, wraps, how you remove and replace the cap on the coil.
It would be great to see pictures also! :)

IMO, you Really Need To Be Sure the GS coils are WET before any powered hits. More than Sure even. Start by drops down the coil chimney. Slowly. Until you see it soaking from the inside to the outer layer closer to you of coil shroud wrap. Then I hit the holes with a drop and button it back up. Even then, air vent closed and several no power hits. Make Sure the wicking is wet all the way before you put any power to it and even then, start around 3.5 volts and work up slowly from there.

That's one good thing about rebuilding Evod coils, you just snap the chimney off, wet down the coil, snap the chimney back on and you can see with your own eyes the coil is fully wet. No shroud foolishness.

Agree, I would rather flood a bit on the side of caution than get a dry hit! :)

You should look at the resistance of the coil, maybe the resistance of the new coil is higher than the old ones. If the resistance is higher then you should reduce the power of your mod (try at low power first).
You said that you let the coil soaked juice in all night long so I think your coil is soaking well. Do you use the same juice?
If the burnt taste is still there whether you reduce the power and you use the same juice so you may have a defective coil. That's all. Try a new one.
