I don't communicate with idiots who believe what they're spoon fed by the media except...

If I have no choice because of blood relation.

OR

To inform them I don't communicate with idiots who believe what they're spoon fed by the media and walk away.
JMO, but I don't think getting angry, defensive, or insulting helps our case. I think we're better off trying to educate when we can. If they are unreasonable, rather than alienating them, we only have to walk away and hope one day they will be more open to reason.

I think there's a misunderstanding here.

Who's angry or defensive?

I'm just blunt. Very blunt.

I speak my mind... often with no filter.

I have educated many.

I still support quite a few... including a few that approached me with this mindset and warning who now thanks to me, are converts.

There just isn't normally time in my life to deal with these petty, ignorant approaches of total strangers.

And I'm not about to make time.

And if they can blindly insult my intelligence, I'm going to bluntly, calmly and without losing stride inform them of the harsh truth in the matter.

At that point, I no longer have a care whether it's received or not.

Doesn't matter one bit to me.

There are exceptions... but they're not blindly walking up to strangers to impart their "infinite wisdom" on matters they have no personal knowledge whatsoever. ;)

Ignorance begets rudeness. And in this society, that's if your lucky.

Don't like it? Keep your nose out of my business.

I think that's not much to ask of any decent human being.

Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
Show me 1 case of anything outside of that popcorn factory where anything negative and respiratory was POSSIBLY attributed to diketones or diacetyl.

Just 1

And I'll consider taking this seriously.

Apparently i think you have mistaking me for somebody who actually cares if anybody takes it seriously or not lol. Go talk to COPD specialist and pick their brains about the variety of diketones that are in real cigarettes and how they relate to and their contributions to many respiratory issues .

You don't believe that everything in cigarettes EXCEPT the diketones are responsible for all the health issues do you , it's the diketones that are especially bad for respiratory function .

Your yanking my chain , you know this stuff lol.

Have a good one

diketones and diacetyl
Some flavorings, especially your custards, butters and such may contain those nasties.
I think it was Herb above who asked about vaping and COPD..No, not really.
Some flavors may or may not cause popcorn lung;
Bronchiolitis obliterans may be caused by inhalation of airborne diacetyl, a chemical used to produce the artificial butter flavoring in many foods such as candy and microwave popcorn and occurring naturally in wines.
But if you take a good look at the studies you'll notice you'd have to vape
a whole heck of a lot of diacetyl..likely more than you would in a lifetime.
If you go by Big Brother's estimates it's like getting popcorn lung from
standing next to your microwave while you nuke yerself some munchies a few times.

Generally the consensus among vapers who suffer COPD
is that vaping helps in that vapers usually quit smoking
and vaping helps one expectorate.

No?

OK

You know...

Once anecdotal evidence becomes an overwhelming mass of information, in science, that's called DATA. And it's collected to form a theory which then either gets tested... or when that's considered unethical (such as with vaping)... becomes a hypothesis.

And the data put forth from the evidence of a decade of vaping growing suggests clearly with nearly no exceptions that regardless of juice inhaled (aside from some ignorant few such as the guy who vaped olive oil instead of e-juice), lungs healed from smoking.

This blatant fear mongering paranoia is ridiculous.

You have to forgive beck, he gets cranky. He drives a thousand miles a day and has super hemorrhoids. You'd get cranky too.
Beck, swing by Chicago with the shiny stuff if you plan on exploding. It will all be treated with love.

But is it really?
Though it certainly seems ridiculous to us vapers who have taken the time to read the research the blatant fear mongering which I prefer to term propaganda
seems to have inspired the regulations which threaten us...

That's a problem. We have underestimated the enemy
and we have overestimated the public's intelligence.

Totally agree.

Though outside the group I'd dub it propaganda.

While spreading the untruths, half truths or misunderstandings within the group, I'd dub fear mongering.

The act of seeing and living through the evidence and near constant conversation on the topics, ignoring it and pressing on with the propaganda is what dictates it as fear mongering.

I've spent more than half my day unable to rise from bed from being short of breath.

I vape(d) almost nothing without diacetyl and diketones.

My lungs went from (according to my doctors) those of an 89 yr old to those of a 22 yr old.

My O2 levels were "great" last time they were checked. (I forget the numbers at this point)

I work more Than 70 hours per week almost every week now.

There's nothing to fear. I'm living proof as are many more here.

Preaching to the choir, bud..Yea, I see what you mean about
in group parroting of debunked alarmist nonsense being tantamount to fear mongering.
Not to excuse anybody but there's always a newb to educate...

My oxygen concentration used to be in the 80's..always 99% now that I vape.
For a while there I'd have to make several pit stops from front door to mailbox by the sidewalk..now-a-days I'll walk 12 miles at a fast pace w/o stopping..my BP
is usually 117/76 instead of 200/90...No meds.
So you can call me living proof also.

Dude, oximeters are inexpensive...you can get one for the cost of a pair of crocs

It could..but then I'd have to sit in lotus all the time. Bro it used to be 200/90 on
2 different meds..sometimes 200/100+ if off meds or ticked off. So 76 is cool.
I still have to lose a little weight so it might get there
but my b-day is in a couple of weeks and I feel like I'm turning 18

You forgot!
Nah, believe me, Woofer. It's a curse. There are things I'd prefer to forget
but I just can't...like the 28th was my anniversary of when I married my ex.
Do I need to remember that?
I just didn't wanna sound like a know-it-all,
besides it's kinda like an inside joke, crocs are.

i see no problem with non smokers vaping. i think they need to get out more perhaps, travel a little maybe, not get so protective of the frampled alien triple twisted coils they make but won't give me.

But it's a lot less harmful than smoking. So they'll live longer and pay my pension!
