I've been doing DIY juice for about 3 months. I started out using Flavourart flavoring, 50/50 or 40/60vg. All good. Then I bought some Flavor West green tea and some Faeries black raspberry flavoring. Every batch with these end up gunking my coil and wick before the tank is done. Flavor at 15% down to 5% and still happens. Anyone have any experience with these manufacturers products and is there a secret to using them. I was told use organic cotton at 1 shop, the next said turn up the wattage, goofy. I use a kayfun V4 Tobeco, single coil, 1.6ohm, at 7.5 watts.

This generally happens with overly sweet mixes. The issue is if you use less flavoring it don't taste as good. Organic cotton will help a little as it's more obsorbant then lets say silica wick. I find a lower wattage will also help but still you will get lower mileage out of your wick and coil with those types of flavors. I have several like that myself but I like them to much the way they are to change the recipe so I just bite the bullet and rebuild more often. Turning up the wattage as one vender suggested will just burn it up faster. What works the best for me with those kind of mixes is a 3.5 to 4mm 28ga coil with 5 winds and lots of cotton rolled tight and running on as low a wattage as I can get away with. I also use a kayfun.

Additionally keeping the wicks saturated in an RDA helps. Similar to how sauce in a frying pan doesn't gunk up until the moisture burns off. I alternate with just a plain 50\50 3mg base. It is amazing how a mix I have sort of zoned out on will explode with flavor by adding plain base. I pretty much exclusively drip and this works for me with rayon. Can't really speak to the RTA's. I rewick and dry burn most every day. Mainly because rayon is so cheap and it is so quick and easy in an RDA

I love to see updates.
Thanks, Love to share.
Flavor Art 1/2 & 1/2 @ %5 Virginia Tobacco, Vanilla Bourbon, and Green Tea, Blackberry perfect.
Flavor West 1/2 & 1/2 @%5 Green Tea, Black Raspberry, still gunks quickly, I'm going to mix this at %3. I think this brand just has super strength flavor and can be used lightly. @ %5 the flavor isn't any lighter than @ 10%.
