Gurgling Kanger EVOD and other Kanger bottom coil tanks - Will thicker juices help?

So far I am having a terrible experience with my Kanger EVOD and the other Kanger bottom coil tanks I bought. They all wind up gurgling on me and won't vape when they get like that. I try to refill the Kangers before the levels get too low. Sometimes a drop of liquid gets on the battery, too. So when I try blowing it out to clear the air tube, I find all the liquid I just put in has emptied onto the napkin! It doesn't matter which end I clear out, I'm losing all the liquid.

I just washed out my EVOD yesterday and today I put in 100% VG juice. So far it seems to be working but I haven't used it long enough to know if the problem will reoccur.

Has anyone found that using thicker juices on the Kanger bottom coils will take care of the gurgling issue?

So far I am very disappointed in Kanger, find them a high maintenance pita, and will probably never purchase them again! All of my Vivi Novas seem to perform fine.

Thanks for your feedback

I have been using an MT3 for a week now with 100% VG and I've only had it gurgle once on me. I fixed it by blowing it out and haven't had a problem since. I'm really enjoying it to be honest.

I typically use a few Vision Vivi Novas which I also love and have no issues with.

Conversely I just got a Young June Vivi Nova (I had no idea Vivi was a classification and not a brand) and it sucks. I've gotten nothing but flooding and burning all weekend long.

These things are so heavenly when they work right and so miserable when they don't.

I've had similar probs with my Kangers (all T3 models). Don't know if it was a bad run or if they're all like this. Sadly, I purchased several on recommendations when they first came out so I'm stuck with having to try using them. And the heads are a bear to rebuild!! At least for me they have been -- get one that works for every 3 that short out... :(

My experience with Kanger too... A bad run, perhaps, or just a design flaw or just bad luck? And, have you tried to rebuild the heads yet? They just weren't designed to be worked on with big clunky aged fingers and tattered nerves I can tell you that much. And that's assuming there was ever any intent for them to be rebuilt in the first place!

I've had good luck with my evods.. I'll get some juice up into the chamber sometimes, but nothing excessive and it might be as much condensation as it is juice coming up the post. I've only had battery drains when I was too rough rinsing the coil when cleaning and I tweaked the wick.

My old T3, though, would whizz all over my center post if I let it go below 1.2 ml. I retired it when I got my evods. I have a T3s replacement base coming in with some of the new T3s coils... we'll see if it has the same issue.

I just blew it out from the mouth piece (top).

If you blow hard enough through the mouthpiece, the tank juice will get sucked from the tank, out the bottom and into your napkin just like a carburetor. Better to flip it and blow from the bottom.

I've also found that the stock heads (which are genuine Kangertech as best I can tell) have variations from one manufacturing run to another. I'm lead to believe they are handmade which would explain the variations in performance. However, there are a few things that will make a bottom coil gurgle for sure and have to be right or it just will gurgle.

Most important is that the tank is sealed. The slightest additional entry point (other than through the wicks) for any air will have the liquid seek its own level and leak. So, make sure the head is tight in the base, the silicone head gasket is in place, the o- rings are in the right places on the base, the base is tight in the tank, yadda yadda. Another is that the wicks remain what amounts to a controlled leak (and not an uncontrolled leak lol). I recommend not removing any flavor wicks. If you do, no matter how thick the juice, it will start to gurgle as the tank gets low, or conversely, if you do remove a wick, keep that tank nearly full at all times.
