So the vape shop by my place just got some in today and I wanted to know if they are any good. Im use the most are my nimbus and kayfun light plus ato's. I currently have a nemesis close and I'm loving that thing. For myself I can justify buy the real things, I rather spend the hundreds of dollars elsewhere than the authentic mods. So my question is are they worth the money? I love how the caravels look and always wanted one but again.... the price. Can someone who has one help me with my decision making? Thanks.

Hey NeKro13 -- I can only speak for the Hcigar King clone as I have recently pursed one.
I also use a cloned Nimbus on the King and both work flawlessly..I can honestly say the Hcigar clone of the King is well made. The only thing I've done to it is add switch magnets.
$40 vs $230 wouldn't be worth that much difference unless it was made of pure silver imo

I do not have the Hcigar Caravela clone, but I do have Hcigar clones of the King, Sentinel M16 and Kayfun 3.1. I am truly impressed by all my Hcigar clones as far as function, fit, finish, and materials. In all likelihood, the Hcigar Caravela will be just as good as their other products.

I do not see the logic in paying $200+ for a glorified battery tube (a so-called "original" that is really just a clone of a flashlight body circa 1950)... but $50-60 for a "clone" Caravela or King seems a lot more reasonable.

Yeah I have the nemi clone and I absolutely love that thing, all my other devises are collecting dust. I love the way the caravela looks and I'm sure after hearing your guys's input on the hcigar mods it should be up to par as the rest. The price is what keeps me from purchasing the original instead of clones.....

Make sure it comes with the long & short size battery rattle screws, some vela clones don't have these so you will have gaps or battery rattle unless you're using a perfect sized atty and battery for it..

o really, okay I will definitely look out for that when i get it out. Thanks for the head's up

I really like the HCigar Caravela, it's 22mm which is thinner than the real one I think (at least thinner than the EHPro which is about 23mm) so it will fit flush with more attys. Compared to the Nemesis clone it does feel a bit cheap though, on mine the 18650 tube the switch screws in a bit wonky and leaves a hair of a gap (even without battery) but it fits great with the other tubes.

A previous poster brought up a good point about the different length pins for the 510. The top of the switch doesn't have a little plastic insert that can be adjusted to get rid of battery rattle, so if your battery is too short it will rattle but still fire. Unfortunately mine didn't come with any different 510 pins but a simple piece of plastic tube I had laying around, when cut to the right length, sits perfectly in the well of the switch and keeps the battery firm.

Overall it's a good mech, I've had no issues with misfires or the button heating up or anything. It takes a tad of fiddling to get the battery to fit snug but other than that it's good out of the box. Here's a pic of mine in 18500/18490 mode with a Nimbus on top so you can get an idea of how it looks. To the right of that is the EHPro clone in 18350 mode, you can see how there is a pretty significant size difference.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your inout uncle chuck.
So I ended up up picking up the gels clone and I'm pretty happy with my decision. Feels great, the build quality is up there with my nemi mod. Its performs the same as my nemi mod, Im using a kayfun light plus and the nimbus, both work great on it. It would be great to have the the real thing, but getting the same look for a fraction of the cost is a win for me.

I've been thinking about getting one. My other thought was how easily the brass tarnishes. the new Atomo V2 clone brass models look brushed and I think would hold up better than anything else, but the brass isn't available yet. I have to get a brass mod at some point. I don't want an all silver collection, you know?

I would like to hear more about the hcigar version. If anybody has a kick could you try it with a 18350 and let me know if it fits.. It won't in FT model only with 18500.

Here are pictures of the fast tech one for you.

can someone post pics of the HCigar clone (and the ones from FT)

I'm definitely interested in making another purchase

Here's the one I got from FT. Don't expect perfection, but for the price it was WELL worth it. I wanted to order more, but they're temporarily sold out. I want to get the brushed brass one as well.

Photo'd is the Caravela clone, the Kraken clone and a brass drip tip. Total cost was around $30.
