The nextel stuff is great because of how well it wicks and it doesn't burn. There is one serious draw back: the fine particles after torching and handling. You really have to rince it well, and work it around a bit before wrapping a coil to get all those particles dislodged and rinsed away. I'm sure more will break loose as the atty is used. If you torch it, then wrap your coil and use it, you will feel the particles in the back of your throat.

There is no random adjustments needed with this type of wick, no random hot spots and shorted coils like you have to deal with on SS mesh. Will surprise you just how many watts you can run on this stuff, because of its extreme heat tolerance. A lot of the other silica wicks you have to cut power or suffer a burn taste.

This is the stuff I run in my Oddy, nothing compares performance wise for high voltage vaping.

this micro particle talk is very concerning.
what is everyone else's opinion of this?
its not that i dont believe you, Stownz. its that i hope somehow you are mistaken, for all of our healths' sake. just a bit of wishful thinking on my behalf.

then again, perhaps these particles are not of great concern. lots of folks are convinced that the slivers of silica that break off are too large to be damaging to our lungs. if that turns out to be true, maybe the slivers of nextel are also of little concern.

the quest for the perfect vape continues..

The slivers that come of the xc-116 are to big to be a risk, or so I've heard from a good source. If properly torch-cleaned and kilned they aren't supposed to be much of a risk, also being in a wet environment.
