It was time for me to renew my life insurance policy. While going over everything with my agent he asked if I was still a smoker. I told him no but I do use an e-cig. I was fully expecting him to come back with "well that still counts as smoking" ...BUT he didn't!! He said "that's great. We'll change your new policy to a non smoker".

Woo Hoo!! This was an awesome surprise. I know it's just a few bucks a month difference for a health insurance policy BUT it's a HUGE difference in premiums for a life insurance policy. I mean a HUGE difference!!! My premium was cut in half :)

WOW!!! That's awesome. I checked into an additional life insurance policy last year, and at the time I was still a smoker, but I also used the nicotine lozenges due to a zero tobacco policy at work. When I talked to the agent and he asked if I smoked, I told him no, but that I did use the lozenges. He told me that they do blood work to verify that policy holders don't smoke and that if nicotine showed up in my system that it would not matter where it came from. I would have to pay the smokers premium. May I ask what insurance company you use? I no longer smoke or use the lozenges, just my ecig. I didn't get the policy because of the price difference for smoking versus non, but if I could get a policy at a non smoking rate I would DEFINITELY be interested
