Been vaping for about 2 weeks with the V2 which worked well for me but i wanted an upgrade and purchased a Triton kit. The Triton works great for me but my liquids at 24% nicotine not so much. I posted on the new members forum and they told me to steep them. My tribeca and other tobacco flavors taste really bad. I read that people have used them right out of the box with no issues. I have them with the caps off in a closet and going to let them sit for a week or 2. Any suggestions on flavors, sites or anything that would help. This forum has been a great help. I smoked about a pack a day of Marlboro lights and have no desire to go back. Thanks (no menthol).

it's weird that Tribeca would taste bad, that's widely considered one of the best RY4's in the whole industry.

ultimately it depends on your tastes are like. Belgian Cocoa is a favorite among many. Even though you say you dont like menthol's, Kringle's Curse is a peppermint thats seriously awesome. Voodoo changes flavor from day to day because it's so complex, but i think it needs a good steep. Midnight Apple is a surprisingly good flavor. Also Malibu is a really good pineapple/coconut blend that most people enjoy.

You might try the gourmet sampler, and see if something lands there. Thing about vaping though, in about 2-4 weeks, your entire taste profile will change. Some older flavors that you hated end up tasting better and you may lose interest in ones you enjoyed early on.

I am one that doesn't like the tobacco flavored juices. It doesn't matter to me whether they are steeped or not, just not my thing. Can you answer this.... is it the flavor you think you want ie tobacco or is it the nicotine? If a good tobacco will have to get some of the others to answer but if it is the nic then I would suggest Halo Malibu, Voodoo in sample sizes and others may help with the bacco juice flavors

(Edit; I went back and re-read your post, seems like I misunderstood. I assumed you were using Tribecca in cartomizers with the V2 cigs before upgrading. If that's not the case I hope what I say below still helps. Just remember that nicotine kills flavor. The higher the nic the less flavor. The lower the nic you start to get lower throat hit. Gotta find that perfect balance.)

You were previously using cartomizers, and upgraded to the Triton system?

I had the same problem, I was loving Tribecca in 24 mg in a cartomizer. Definitely one of the things that finally helped me kick the real thing. I bumped up to an Ego style battery and put some of that same 24 mg Tribecca in a tank and thought it tasted pretty foul.

I gave up on Tribecca until I got a sample pack a few weeks later, but in 12 mg instead of 24. Changed my life, lol. Tribecca in 12 mg is almost a different thing than at 24. Cartomizers tend to dull the taste too, so that sharp, peppery edge you taste out of a tank @ 24 mg is a lot milder in a cart.

Here's my advice, keep some 24 mg around in a cartomizer if you think you need it. Then try Tribecca in 12 mg. I think you'll be very happy.

How long have you been off the smokes?

It may be the nic... never thought of that but I know that you tend to get a milder more mellow flavor with the carts than a tank. I think it is the carpet fibers as I call them that mute flavor too. You will also notice a difference in taste from top coil and bottom coil tanks. There are several juices that I like with a cart that I don't in a tank and vice versa

I concur with what everyone else has said already, BUT....

Thanks (no menthol).
I do disagree with your attitude on this. I would of told you "no menthol" for myself too when I first quit smoking and moved to e-cigs, BUT it is weird how our taste buds change and how vaping delivers taste and flavors compared to smoking does. I actually found some menthols I like.

SO the biggest piece of advice I can give you to go along with what the others have already said.... Dont dismiss flavors because you think you will not like them, try things, be a bit adventurous, before I started vaping if you had told me I would like Sub-Zero mixed with Belgian Cocoa I would of thought you insane.... and yet I really enjoy that combination.

I'm another who prefers Tribeca in a carto, and I used 24 mg in both. Tribeca mixed half and half with Voodoo (AngiBe's recipe called The Mistress) in a Triton tank is pure deliciousness. Tribeca's flavor seems to be heat sensitive too. DaveOno suggested trying Belgian Cocoa, another heat sensitive one, when the Triton is halfway discharged or more - rather than fresh off the charger. It helps.

The only tobacco flavor I was able to vape right out of the box was Torque56. For me, the others needed 3 days at least with the cap off, including the fill tip on the smaller bottles. I also prefer mixing the tobaccos. None of them worked for me on their own, but together I enjoyed them a lot.

Halo flavors are bold, and as wheezal said, your taste buds are changing. What you don't like today, you might love in a few weeks or months!

I highly recommend to get straight up Torque in 18 or 12 mg-closest thing i could find to Marlboro Lights taste and got me off of cigs. You will find jooz having a stronger taste (at least I did) in a tank versus a carto.

Also, your taste buds are going to change wildly in the first month. I also at first loved Tribeca, then literally hated it for around five months and then mixed it with VOODOO, liked it again, now fast forward, love it again. Alone or mixed.

Another good one to get is Prime (a little bit of a lighter tobacco w/a hint of nut) and its great alone or terrific as a mixer (like 50/50 with Torque or others) and Fusion is an unflavored BUT mixes with anything! Plus you can adjust your nic levels with it by adding it to juices to get a higher nic if needed or lower nic.

Rwb1500, yes i was using 24mg cartomizers Red tobacco from V2 then switched to the Triton. Wow there is alot to learn, I'm going to let them sit for a week and try again. I quit smoking 2 weeks ago and disliked menthol cigarettes but after reading your posts I will definitely keep an open mind and try all flavors menthol included. Had no clue that flavors can be mixed. I did just try Prime 15 and liked it. I'm going to continue reading your post and try to take in all of the info. Thanks everyone, never wrote in a forum before and this has been a great experience. Smoked cigarettes for 15 years and never going back. Also, I use a Triton tank.

Hey Nick! You said you smoked about a pack of Marlboro lights a day and are using 24mg nicotine level? I smoked 2 packs a day and I only use 18mg nic, I have a 24mg for those extreme stress situations but I mostly use 18 or lower now. When you switch to a more efficient nicotine delivery device you'll find the higher nic levels harder to vape. Which is harder on you the flavor taste of the juice which you just may not like that flavor now or is it hitting you so hard you don't even taste the juice, if this is the case your nic level is definitly too high.

Just remember vaping is a journey of finding what is right for you. You can read all the advice and that does help but ultimately we are all different. Drink plenty of water because the PG in juice is dehydrating. :)

So true that everyone is different with nic levels. I smoked half a pack a day, but they were a densely packed premium variety. 18 mg at first wasn't enough on basic cig alike with cartos. 24 mg was the sweet spot. On the Triton, 24 mg was too much. Down to 18 mg now, and on my RBA, I could soon go to 12 mg. Different gear delivers nic better or worse than others.

Nick, as mentioned, you can buy lower nic juices and mix with the 24 mg to reduce if and when you feel you want to. It can be the same flavor, or a different flavor, or Fusion.

Congrats on quitting! :)

Switching from a carto/cig-a-like to a tank is a totally different world as many have said. It took switching to a tank system for me to completely quit.

I think what others have said about the nicotine level and you not liking the flavor due to that is probably correct. What makes me think this is your mention of enjoying Prime 15 but not the others. Everyone I know that smoked less than I did when I smoke find most of the juices I vape too strong/harsh/no flavor/weird flavor. I vape 18 MG at the moment. However, everyone I know that smokes less than I did also enjoys Prime in 18 MG while not liking just about anything else. Prime seems really smooth and the flavor is strong enough where it still comes out very well at any nicotine level. I wonder if your experience not enjoying your other juices is the nicotine level (just based off what I've seen others say based on the juices I vape). I'd really consider giving 18 or 12 MG a shot.
