Halo mini-tank -- how much liquid to use?

Okay, so this is my very first day -- my Halo G6 arrived with a mini tank. No instruction booklet for how to use the mini-tank. I wrote to Halo to ask, but no response yet, so I figured I'd ask here. I did spend time reading lots from the forum, but didn't find the specific answers I'm looking for.

How much liquid should I put in the mini-tank? I see lines up to 0.9 mL, but when I got a little more than half-way, it seemed to leak, and I thought maybe I filled it too high? Then when I put in on the battery, even though I dried it all off first with paper towels, there was a sizzling sort of noise than scared me a bit. (I was using the pass-through battery plugged into my laptop while the regular battery is charging up.)

So, is that normal? Can/should I fill the tank to the top line? And how far should I let it get down before I refill it?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yeah, fill up to the top line, but be sure not to get any liquid in the little hole in the middle of the post in the center. You have to angle the drops so that they slide between the post and the side of the tank.

I assume that the leaking you saw was because some of the juice went through the head and dripped out of the bottom. Either that, or you got a bad tank.

Search YouTube for filing a clearomizer and you'll be fine. Welcome aboard

Ps. I'd Refill with a quarter tank left, if using the same juice. I don't want the wick drying out at all. But I think I am more suited to carto tanks. (never used a carto tank but I'm thinking about it strongly after watching a few grimmgreen videos on YouTube)

Thanks so much for your answers -- that totally helped me figure it out. Of course, I was dripping the liquid right onto the hole in the middle, duh! :D And, I didn't know they were called clearomizers -- I had searched for "mini-tanks," so now I know!

I have another question, though: If you do want to change flavors, how do you go about it? Can you vape all the way down until it's almost dry without ruining anything? Or should you always stop at 1/4 tank and discard the rest? Hate to discard any, but I would hate to burn it out even worse.

Thanks, again.

Do not discard liquid. I pour it back into the original bottle. I waste no liquid. You might want to wash out the inside with hot water when you change liquid flavors. This will get rid of MOST of the old flavor but there will still be some "trace" amounts left that will wear off. My suggestion would be to get one for each flavor so you do not have to pour out ANY liquid.

Great info. Thank you so much. Last question....

I suppose these can't be laid down...is that right? What about lying down while vaping? Can that be done with these mini-tank/clearomizers? And must they always be stored upright when they have liquid in them? Just checking.

You want to lay them on their sides, actually, if you can, because your object is to keep the wicks wet. Which brings me to a previous question you asked: you can vape it until the tank is nearly empty, provided that you keep the wicks wet. Keeping the wicks wet when the tank is nearly empty will require some amount of twirling and tilting as you vape. (Personally, I tend to refill my tanks when they're at about a quarter capacity.)

The tank should not leak, as long as the mouthpiece is on it.

When you're ready to clean the tank, pour whatever remains back into its bottle, rinse the tank out under a faucet, then what I do is to soak the tanks in cheap vodka for awhile, which sorta sanitizes them. Then air dry. That ought to eliminate most any lingering flavor.

Thank you so much, Fulgurant, for the information. I'm relieved to know I can lay them down and not worry about them spilling inside my purse or whatever. I'm so happy with my new setup, and now that I've had the weekend to "play" with it, I'm headed of to work tomorrow for the first time with my vaping supplies! Yay!
