Hi guys I am pretty new to vaping, I have just went from a Halo G6 to a new Triton tank system. I ordered a few different Halo e liquids, in the 18mg nicotine strength. They taste awesome, but the throat hit is crazy, make me cough after one hit and almost gag. Is it that the nicotine strength is to high? I was a 20 a day Marlboro Light analogue smoker, before vaping.
Any help would be great, thanks.

Big fan of Halo e liquids here. While my time has been brief (3 month vaper here) with them, one thing I found with the juices I have is the throat hit is amazing. I placed a small order with them yesterday and dropped my nicotine level from 18mg to 12mg. I plan on staying with 18mg with my other vendors for a little longer, and solely dropping with Halo. In my limited experience with them, I've come to the conclusion their nicotine seems a little stronger than others; of course, this is purely anecdotal.

May I ask what juice did that? They do state that some of their juices give a strong throat hit, regardless of nicotine.

You could try a 12mg but I don't think that is your problem. Halo is high in PG and have undisclosed ingredients which adds to the throat hit. I have tried many different ejuices from over 50 different companies all around the USA and I can tell you Halo provided me with the best throat hit. That same satisfaction I received from Halo is what scared me and I now no longer buy halo.

Undisclosed ingredients, high in PG, and their willingness not to answer any questions on what is in their ejuice is why I no longer buy halo.

I just mixed a 50/50 mix of Tribeca into my clearomizer and it's perfect, no idea what nicotine strength I am getting now, but I am taking a guess that 12mg might be the way to go.
I have no dry throat issues etc. so I must be ok with high Pg levels.
I might purchase a couple of Halo 12mg juices and see how that works for me.

If you mix 18mg w/ 12mg evenly (50/50) then your vaping at 15mg...
I always buy all my flavored juice at 6mg and usually mix evenly with 12mg 'Fusion' so I am at 9mg.
Tribeca is one of my favorite flavors and Torque is one of my least favorite. To better enjoy Torque, I mix 25% Torque, 25% Belgian, 50% Fusion. In my opinion, Fusion is a great tool (and slightly cheaper to boot).

I quit smoking with a Triton kit, because of the throat hit. Those tanks with Halo juice probably put out a stronger throat hit than many far more 'advanced' toppers... Whenever I am in the mood for a strong vape, I load up a Triton tank with Longhorn, Captain Jack or SubZero and put it on a Triton VV...

The one thing I can't understand is people say it's the PG content that gives you the strong throat hit. I have two Halo Tribeca, one 6mg nicotine, and the other 18mg. The 18mg I can't even inhale! while the 6mg I could vape all day with barely any throat hit. So I believe that it's the nicotine level that is causing me the differences in throat hit and not the PG levels as most were telling me.

I had the same experience with my tribeca, 12mg had a nice TH, 6mg had less TH, 0mg had ZERO TH.

So unless the 0mg has less PG than the higher nic lvls, TH from PG is BS

I agree. It's definitely the nicotine content that has the most impact on throat hit.

It's my understanding that PG does effect throat hit but only in a small way. For example, if you take the same 12mg blend and make one bottle 80PG/20VG and make the other bottle 20PG/80VG the throat hit will be slightly stronger on the 80/20 version. I've never experimented with this but that's the way I understand it.

Either way though, if one wishes to increase or decrease throat hit I believe the nicotine content should be the primary focus.

I couldn't agree more. Number one their stance is only hurting us all now that the FDA is involved. It's game over and apparently Halo has not gotten the message yet. Halo 12mg tore up my throat to the point that I started losing my voice, it tore up her throat as well, and we both almost wound up smoking again. It became very painful to vape and the hacking was constant. Never again.

I loved Halo for a while there but then started to question what your asying here. And I notice that all they're juices have a very chemical taste to them as well. I still use the Turkish Tobacco but once I'm done with that I think I'm not going to buy from them anymore. Any suggestions for a good Turkish with great TH?

My most trusted vendor is Ahlusion. While you will not get same throat it as Halo (then again, nothing will because of god knows what they add ) I suggest you try Sahara Blend from Ahlusion. My favorite is SHIP WRECK ( tobacco, coconut, lime - natural and organic flavors ). Ahlusion does use some artificial flavorings in their ejuice and those it states which ones have them on their web site.

Halo's philosophy concerning e-juice is to use the highest and purest grades of PG, VG and nicotine along with non-PRC sourced ingredients. They certainly don't add 'chemicals'. Trade secrets are why higher end juice makers don't list every specific ingredient, and never will. My guess is their label will meet FDA standards...

I can tell you what they add - lots of flavoring! If you have some unflavored nicotine base and some Halo juice, combine them 50/50. I used to do that to stretch out my Halo supply. You still get an intensely flavored vape, but it's much easier on the throat (especially the ones with chocolate). The vapor trail isn't so overwhelming to bystanders, either.
