Happy Quitter Here

Hi everybody, new here =)

First I have to admit that the only reason I made the decision to quit in the first place was reducing the cost of my health insurance-because I thoroughly enjoyed smoking. I quit and bought a vape on Dec 7 2013. I haven't yet figured out that banner thingy the rest of yall have, but I haven't smoked since.

I have an eGo variable voltage battery with some kinda cheap Kanger tank (my third) and some fruity 18mg juices that are supposedly 70veg/30pro. That liquid is almost all gone and I think I'll go down to 12 when I buy more... What I have seems kind of harsh, but it didn't seem that way when I first bought it. As a smoker I rolled rollies out of cheap pipe tobacco with no filter, I didn't care.

I've mostly been lurking around here educating myself on everybody's knowledge, for which I am grateful =) It's pretty overwhelming.:)

Hi Drunkenmimes and welcome to the wonderful world of vaping. Glad you found us and joined ECF.

Congrats on being analog free since Dec 7th. That is a HUGE accomplishment. Sounds like your gear is working for you. I started at 18mg nic and dropped to 12mg after about 2 months. So far, so good. I hope you find it as easy a transition as I did.

There are a number of us who lurked for a while before joining ECF, so you are in good company !!

Have you stuck with tobacco flavors or have you branched out to any others? I started with a menthol-tobacco flavored juice because I smoked menthols and the folks here encouraged me to be open to flavors that were not like what I smoked because....I don't smoke anymore and don't have to be limited to flavors that remind me of smoking. I still have my all day vape which is still a menthol blend, but because of the encouragement to be open, I've added Mango, Kiwi, Chocolate Chip Mint Ice Cream, Strawberry and Peach to my juice collection. I rotate the other flavors in the evening and it is like having a rotating dessert bar without all the calories. I love it !!

Hope you find this community and the folks here to be as friendly, supportive and knowledgeable as I have found them to be. My vaping success is directly connected to the folks here.

Keep the vape and namaste.

Welcome to ECF! I suppose if there's any reason enough to quit, that's as good as any! Whatever does it. :)

As for signatures, and the little quit dealios, just click on one you like and it'll usually take you to the place where you can generate one for yourself. You then go into settings, edit your signature and post the code that you were given at the banner site. Pretty simple and a good motivator! I just hit 500 cigs today and it kinda freaked me out, that's a lot when you're not smoking them!

Thanks for joining us!

Drunkenmimes, I'm following the same path. Bought a Joyetech eMode in the last week in November and my last pack of cigarettes on 12/1. I'm already upgrading to a Provari Mini and Kanger Aerotank (should be at my door tomorrow). I have never been smoke free for more than a couple of weeks prior to vaping. I was dropping $10 a day on cigarettes (Thanks to NY taxes!). I've already saved enough $ to buy 3 Provaris! or "insert name of favorite high end mod here".
Congratulations on being smoke free!

Thanks everyone for your friendly welcomes =)

It's been surprisingly easy, to the point where I go many ours at a time, even after waking in the morning, where I forget about the vape/don't have any urge cross my mind-in response to someone who suggested I might be chain-vaping, lol. A true test of resolve would come with sitting in a smoky room with friends and drinking while they smoke-I don't even wanna put myself in that situ yet!

The flavors I started on, and have a bit left of, are mango, guava, granny smith, watermelon, and 5150 (described as 'razzleberry'). My younger sister and I were sharing those 5 bottles, but she has since relapsed.

The juices came from a shop in Quartz Hill where we bought the set-ups. They were low priced, and they make the juices themselves. They had a whole tasting bar for use to try out 0-nic flavors.

Drunkenmimes, I have had the added benefit of quitting in December here in NY state. If I wanted a smoke I would have to layer up and venture out in -5 degree windchill and 12 inches of snow. Sorry to hear your sister has relapsed. I'd like to think that if it was sunny and 75 here in NY that I could resist the urge to join my "still smoking" buddies outside.

YES you can! Quitting quitting is not an option. You have made an investment of time, money, and effort into improving your health and the sociability of your breath:D
