I suspect I've had a few defective cartos. With those it was actually impossible to draw anything. But, that's not what prompted this post.

I am noticing that some batteries are much harder to draw on than others, even with the same carto. I've cleaned the threads to little effect.

Sorry if this seems like a newbie post. I've been informed that I'm not a noob, and shouldn't start threads in that area.

Looking for a cause and (hopefully) solution. TIA

I may have found an answer in this thread ...
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/73389-cleaning-vaporking-automatics.html
But, I won't be able to check it out until tomorrow, as I don't have any needles on hand. Perhaps those tiny holes below the thread are clogged. I'm guessing that would make for a hard draw.

While examining my batteries I noticed a difference between the autos and the manuals (aside from the obvious). If you look into the central hole in the automatics you can see down a few millimeters to what appears to be a metallic pin of some sort. While the automatics have some sort of material at the opening of the hole. Hmmm. But that doesn't seem to have any bearing on difficulty of drawing a vape.

I don't think has anything to do with cleaning the holes, at least not all the time.

I purchase 2 Auto XLs from V4L, 1 has a wonderful easy draw, the other (of course mine) is such a hard draw I expend most of my lung capacity just getting the LED to turn on, really. This was the way they were when I brought them from out of the package.

Needless to say, mine is being exchanged and I really hope I get lucky and get one like my husbands :) Otherwiser, I guess I'll just have to stick with all manuals. Don't get me wrong, I love my manual for the harder hit, but I'd like to have an auto for when I want to just sit back and vape without the button thing. As a chainvaper, my finger gets sore:p

This might be a stupid question, but... did you make sure that the label on the carto isn't covering the notches in the screw end?

Picked up a freebie carto from V4L this evening, started to vape, and was wondering why I couldn't pull off it at all. Then I looked. Let me tell you... even if the label's 0.5mm too far south, it'll block up all the holes and you won't get jack.

Fortunately, it's easily fixed with a pair of fingernail clippers. :) I didn't have scissors with points that were fine enough.

Not for me. I tried my battery on several cartos just to make sure the problem was with the battery, but I will remember to check that in the future.
