i think i have decided to start off with the kr808d-1 kit because from what i have read it is dependable, decent bat life and i like a strong throat hit with good vapor production and this one seems to fit the bill. the site has 2 kits. 1 with hard tips and one with soft tips on the cartomizers. What is the difference? also it comes with 6 cartos and from what i understand 1 carto is = to about 12cigs. how many times can i refill them on average before they are done with? im just trying to figure out the lifespan- for example if i can refill them 5 times on average then 1 carto =12x5=about 60 cigs thanks for any response

Get soft tip...they're easier to refill. And I think you should be able to refill them more than 5 times....I can, anyway. I'm not sure about how many cigs a carto is equivalent to....maybe not quite 12 cigs. Or maybe so...it's been awhile since I tried to figure the number of cigs something is worth...I just figure about how long one will last on a refill. I can get through a day on about 3-4 cartos, so that may be about right.

The soft tips come off really easily and you can refill them that way. The hard tips are harder to open. Sometimes you have to dip them in boiling water to "melt" the glue that holds them on. I think other than that, they're about the same.

The soft cap carto's are easier to refill, you just pop off the end cap and drip juice into it. The hard cap carto's you either drip through the battery hole and can't see when it's full, or use a syringe to get the juice deeper into the filler material. 1 carto = 12 cigs, not for me, it's more like 5 or 6 but you may get more mileage out of them. Carto's can be refilled at least several times, sometimes they'll last longer but don't count on it, just feel lucky if you get a week out of one. At least that's been my experience. It's better to have more than enough than to find yourself down to your last carto, so stock up a bit.

Agree, Soft tips are a lot easier than hard. Also, keep the carts filled to maximize life. If you think your getting down on liquid fill it up. If you not sure, fill it up anyway. The bur taste can mean your running dry on liquid and can shorten it's life. If your getting a weird burnt taste even when it's full, It may be at it's end. Some people have resurrection methods but i just toss them and get a new one. Good luck!
