Ah, blinking light.

Are there other symptoms of a weak battery? Less vapor, taste different, anything at all?

What about the manuals? No lights there...

With a manual the light will fail to light, and there will be NO vapor production, When the battery gets weak, there will be less vapor, and you will have to hold the button longer to get a good amount of vapor.

Hmm, ok I have one of each; manual and auto

The manual I have not had much experience with since my first one was a dud and had to be replaced.

The auto has been sort of kooky; some times as soon as I screw the atty on it lights up and stays lit for a few seconds. Then I will take a hit and the light will come on for a second, then go off. I dont get a hit; if I set it down, the light comes on again and stays.

Is that the battery going dead?

Sounds like you got some juice in your auto battery. Im not sure if you can save it.

What kind of ecig are you using?

I can't speak to the issues youre having with the light...but

I had trouble getting a good "hit" at first as well. It seemed like I couldn't get any vapor.

then I saw some videos and saw how they people where hitting their ecigs differently than I would normally hit an analog.

try to puff on it twice ( firmly but not too hard ) then take a long slow drag. I prefer to take the smoke in my mouth before I inhale completely. I havnt been able to get a good direct to lungs hit yet that didnt make me cough hehehe.

After the first two puff puff drags I do. I can usually hit off the ecig at will. But if I let the ecig sit, I have to puff puff drag the first couple hits again.

As far as battery vs juice Ive found that if I get a burnt taste, its low on juice. If I just cant get vapor, its the battery

I had an Auto 901 that was haunted as well. Never dripped, just used cartridges.
One day day, it just took off on me. Could not stop it. It was in my pocket and by the time I felt the heat, the Atty was cooked. Even after unscrewing the smoking Atty, the battery would still randomly fire up. I tried flicking it, I tried banging it, I tried Chicken Bones and feathers - nada. When it finally stopped for good, I threw it out and got a MOD. No more questions.

Not all PV have LED btw - mine (my standard 510s from cignot that is) don't which Im really happy about - I always thought the LED on the end like a fake cig cherry looked lame lol. I was kind of ticked when I found my eGo had one, but its only on the activation button so I guess I can live with that. Mine jsut stop doing anything when the battery dies, and it doesnt drain so much as stop dead; so Ive no prewarning really. Sometimes the vapor starts to die off but I dont always notice. With low juice it just tastes HARSH so I always know I need to re-drip.

Alot of things can cause poor performance. Remove your atty and blow gently into it. If fluid comes out of the air holes, you've flooded it with juice. If this happens, you have to clean the contacting surface of the battery and the atty. If you aren't getting vapor and you know the battery is good, the unmistakable taste of burning metal lets you know you need more fluid
