I'm working through some designs and I'm trying to decide if I can geta way with using hardwood as a tank cap. I know theres a lot of "acrylic stabilize" woods out there and a variety of finishes you can put on stuff to make it 'food safe' etc. But is it just totally not worth the effort to try to make a tank cap out of hardwood?
I'm good with material properties when it comes to things like plastics, metals, and even leather... dunno enough about wood to make a guess.
The issue is I want to make part of my built in rba out of the same wood I'm making the mod out of but I'm thinking it's dangerous. It wouldn't be exposed to much heat, the wick will go through it but hte coil won't really be that close.
Opinions? facts? Wild, baseless speculation?
