A fellow vaper and I were talking at work the other day about how cool it would be to color some of our clear liquids in our tanks. Of course the only thing we thought of was food coloring. Has anyone tried this? Also I disagreed with him when he thought that maybe the vapor would be colored as well. What's your thought on that? Obviously there were several concerns we came up with which I will list below.
-Are there health concerns?
-Would it vape?
-Would it damage carto's, atty's, etc?
-Would it change taste?

Just something fun we were chatting about on a boring day at work. Let me know!

Lots of places color their liquids. Many flavorings have color in them as well. Some coloring however could burn at vape temps which won't taste nice or they could also clog up your hardware if they don't burn off.
No one really knows if there's any health concerns, like flavorings, they've not been tested for safety when vaporized. I personally avoid coloring whenever possible. Why add more untested ingredients than absolutely necessary?
As far as taste, it's possible it could change the taste but it's pretty unlikely as they're usually intended to be tasteless in food.

And you were right, you won't get colored vapor. Vapor is actually clear. It only looks white because it's reflecting light. Even if some of the color was dispersed in the aerosolized droplets, it'd still look white.
Like with a fog machine, the only way to color the vapor is to shine colored light on it.

The only way to create colored "vapor" is to burn chemicals that give off colored smoke.

A mod with some built in externally shining LEDs that would color the vapor in a dark room would be a pretty cool idea though. It could also double as a flashlight :)

Good call on why add more chemicals! Not really worth the "cool" factor. Thanks for the info though on this. I think I may have seen some mods that work as flashlights actually, but nothing cool with colored lights! Give it some time and all that stuff will be out! Thanks again!
