I recieved my sampler from HHV's last Saturday. I toked a little of the Gandalf and gave it three stars. It didn't suck but I wouldn't reorder it either. Too much hot cocoa flavor for me. That said, I was told repeatedly that it had to steep for 4 - 14 days. So it is hidden away in a dark, cool spot and has been sitting there since I got it. I figure I will break it out on Saturday and give it another toot along with the other flavors I received in the sampler (includes Gandalf, Huntsman, Heavenly tobacco, and Pirate's Booty). If the Gandalf hasn't changed flavor, then I will still toot the entire 3ml sampler and maybe it will grow on me. There have been way too many people who have said it got better with time. So it's either in need of steeping or it's an acquired taste. I'm willing to go either route because it has received wide acclaim. Can't write it off too quickly with that much praise. Last point, HHV's has excellent pricing. A full 30ml for $12? Are you kidding me?!

It should be noted that when I started this thread Gandalf was different. HHV changed Gandalf to increase the tobacco content. It is great now and it was great before; however, before it was a little less aromatic and thusly a little more "universal." I think HHV should have a Gandalf Lite to offer for those that think it is a little too aromatic (some may call what I call aromatic, "perfumy").

We all like what we like for a myriad of reasons, however, I got to thinking about a juices that may be able to transcend our individual preferences. Is there a juice that you would recommend to anyone without fear of it being offensive, off-putting, or weird tasting? I would recommend Halo Prime 15..HA! Just kidding! Seriously, I would suggest to anyone, I mean anyone--regardless of their perceived preferences--to try Heather's Heavenly Vapes Gandalf.

We know how fussy and finicky we can be, but I would place my bet on HHV's Gandalf as a universally acceptable suggestion for nu-vapers or the experienced. Obviously everyone won't love/like it, but I doubt if anyone would be turned off!

What would yours be and why?

p.s. I will go into detail about why I chose Gandalf if there are responses, I didn't want the opening post to be too long.

I recently ran into a member who made a sarcastic remark suggesting that he didnt like Gandalf. But I just ordered the 4 bottle sampler from HHV tonight, and Gandalf was the 1st one I chose, as well as 3 other tobacco flavors. Are you saying that it doesnt taste like tobacco?

No, I am not saying that. Gandalf does in fact have a tobacco taste, because it is made with tobacco; however, there is a lot more to the "flavor" than that. As my post earlier stated, the first run of Gandalf was lighter in taste than it is now; now, it is much more vocal, to the point of not having to listen very hard to hear the tobacco speaking, whereas at first, with the initial run, the tobacco was little more subdued. I think any opinion of Gandalf should be held off for a couple weeks--it changes along with perception of it.

And people need to realize that "tobacco" does not automatically mean "tastes like a cigarette". Extracted tobaccos often taste nothing like a cigarette.

People need to realize that cigarettes don't taste like tobacco. hahahahahahaha

p.s. GOOD POINT! I am actually pretty amazed that the cigarette taste seekers have sort of fizzled away....Now, it seems like there is a much better appreciation for many different tastes of tobaccos.

I think it's mostly brand new vapers, recently quit or trying to quit cigarettes, that mostly require the "cigarette" taste (or at least think they do). I'm pretty sure i was the same way way back when.

Yeah, but a several months ago those type of threads popped up incessantly! "Need help finding Virgina Slims juice.":blink::lol:

p.s. Maybe it comes in waves?

HHV is my favorite line right now, but I don't think that they are universal, especially for the fruit flavor types. I can vape any of the HHV's and love them, but I think that the taste might be overpowering for some.

Just a few weeks ago I was thinking about this topic while vaping CC House Blend. Juice of the Year aside, I can't imagine anyone not liking it, at least a little. It's not too sweet or cakey, not a full-on dessert vape, but has hints of cookie/cake while still giving a good TH. Definitely satisfies me more than any other sweet vape. I get no tobacco flavor from it and don't know why CC considers it a tobacco vape. Anyway, that's my vote.

Do you mean like pipe or cigar or ... ? Or am I misunderstanding the question?

hahaha. No, I was just saying which juices in general or which vendors. Is HHV the exception to your normal taste preferences i.e. extracted tobacco? When I talk about HHV, I am always putting it into a broader context of extracted tobaccos. Out of the 20 or so juices that I vape religiously, 2 of them are non-extracted, but they are still "tobacco" in some respect.

If I was pinned down to naming my top 5, they would probably be, in no particular order, Boba's, Gorilla Juice, Heavenly Tobacco, Gandalf, and Swagger. And 4 of the next 5 would probably be tobacco too. The only real exception would be Pink Spot by Pink Spot, which is the only "fruity" juice I've ever really liked.

So obviously I mostly like tobacco flavors, but not all of the vendors say one way or the other if they're "extracted", and I'm not sure I can always tell the difference. I'm not even positive what non-extracted is. I'm probably still not answering your question, but I'm trying. :)

It's cool! Any response to a question could be construed as an answer. Yours was more than just a response, it in fact informed me as to what I was wanting to know.

You'd make a terrible lawyer, Mr. M. ("Move to strike as non-responsive!")

And yes, you may take that as a compliment.
