I am curious too. I am definately gonna try the blueberry cheesecake and tasty finger this week. I shall ponder the biscotti. Seems like it would taste best come fall/winter.
To me, the texture and crunch is as important to biscotti as the actual flavor but I wouldn't be surprised if Geoff found a way to make you think you were chewing on one while vaping.
I would expect biscotti to have almond, vanilla, chocolate and... erm... cookie crumbs. I've also had them with orange, amaretto, and hazelnut substitutions. I can't remember a single instance from my seven years in Italy when I had a biscotti with an identifiable element of anise. Is that a US thing?
It wouldn't have chocolate or anise in it. Those are both types of biscotti and TV's description suggests trying it with either of those which means their plain biscotti doesn't have them.
I don't think the anise is US-only. Back when the only way to get biscotti here was in an Italian bakery or in the imported section of a gourmet store, there were definitely plain, anise, chocolate and sometimes other flavors as well. I think the only two required elements are the slivers of almonds and that it be baked twice making it so crunchy that you either dunk it or risk scratching your esophagus when you swallow.
