I currently have 330 ml of Frenilla and only 50 ml of Strawnilla!!! OMG! Oh that's right.....he sold out of the 12 mg Strawnilla too soon!!!!!! When it's up in about 2 weeks I will have to see about increasing my supply.

Cat update - I think I mentioned that he is hyper-thyroid so the vet wants to handle that before taking his teeth. Once we get the thyroid in check, it could uncover kidney failure. If that happens....I don't even want to thing about it!

So the teeth are put off for a while at least.

One of my kitties is in exactly the same boat. We get the results from the 2nd round of blood work tomorrow. Her first results were very grave, we hope she can bounce back enough to be with us a while longer. If she does, she'll need a tooth removed bc it's very rotted :( poor kitties.

About your cat... The kidney's from my beloved cat started failing big time almost a year ago (PKD). I was sooo upset, I really thought she was done. She was so sick and her bloodwork was bad... But now a year later she's still here and is doing well. She has medication once a day and a strict diet. She isn't going to be old but she's still here and she's still herself with her crazy things which I really can't miss. Cats can live for a few years with kidney failure.

Good luck with your cat. I know how miserable it is :(. Sometimes I get sad just by looking at her and knowing that it can be over anytime.

Cats have bad teeth, bottom line if a cat is over a year old they have cavities. Sad but true.

And my beloved (and now gone) Maine .... was diagnosed with kidney failure 8 years before he died (at 24). We didn't do anything except when he got bad we'd rush him to the vet for I.V. liquids and then he'd be just fine. Cats are special weirdos and I love them!

Unfortunately most of our preferred (meaning cats, dogs, etc.) non-human companions don't live as long as we do. Parrots and sea turtles are the exception....don't know if there are more. I did ask the vet when we had him in about second hand smoke as I only quit a month ago, hubby still smokes and so does my son. The cat is 16. I have always smoked around my pets since I started smoking 37 years ago. He said that for animals they can get upper respiratory problems but it is rare. My cat sounded fine.

We are getting off the subject now. I only added that because I was panicking and thinking I could never buy NT juice again because the dental bill was quoted as OUTRAGEOUS! Now we can breath a little better and I can still add to my NT hoard!!! Next week I think is cheesecake and the toppings and then the following week will be STRAWNILLA/FRENILLA! I need to win lotto so I can quickly catch up to Meg's stash! ;)

You'd need more than the lotto - that would take 75% of the GNP of many smaller countries! :D

My oldest cat (almost 17) had kidney problems several years ago. He's also diabetic and we have to give him insulin shots twice a day. He's still plugging along as well as any 17 year old cat can! I call him the "Love Monster" because he loves cuddling - if me or the wife are sitting or laying down, he climbs right up on us, takes his position and starts purring away, demanding to be hugged, kissed and petted. He has the loudest, most soothing purr I've ever heard from any cat!

Kitties and kidneys = problems. Our 18 yr. old with one kidney cost a fortune this week for five rounds of fluids and antibiotic shots. Poor old girl rallied again and seems better. I've lost track of how many lives she's used up now. I think she's borrowing from the neighborhood kitties at this point in time. She has had kidney problems for about 6 years now so they can live a long time with the problem sometimes.

We appropriated one of our cats (Baby) from our neighbors when they lost interest and left her out to fend for herself. She was knocked up and had two kittens of her own before she was 1 year old. We got ahold of her after that. As a result she is tiny and has a litany of health issues, but is actually a very sweet, affectionate, outgoing and happy cat. She's 3 years old now and we are removing her bottom premolars this week due to resorbing teeth. Last month it was surgery to remove bladder stones. I never even knew such things existed! Anyhow, I feel your pain and wish you well. There's nothing we wouldn't do for either of our cats.
