Strong supporter of the government and government plans and still am, but the FDA in particular has lost favor with me. It's clear that they have to stick to what their agency is about and that's ensuring that products on our markets are relatively, but with such a wide swath of capabilities and the fact that they are in bed with BP and BT is just plain wrong.

It has added to my distrust. After all the years of really shady experiences I've personally had with medications that were approved, then taken back off the market etc. - now the whole e-cig thing just kinda adds another layer of icing on the cake. I realize that the FDA serves a great purpose. They just don't serve that purpose properly and they haven't for a very long time. They need to restructure and setup some new categories for a LOT of new technologies not just e-cigs and the've needed to for over a decade now.

Anywho /rant

Well I have recently become extremely interested in the Zeitgeist movement and I think they are so damn right in saying that people will 'never' ever be ethical and honest because the monetary system itself totally encourages and rewards dishonesty and corruption. It isn't even human nature that is to blame, it's the monetary system itself that creates all these people we know we cannot trust. We can't even trust each other when it comes to money. Nothing will ever change until we eliminate the monetary system. There simply isn't any reward in being ethical and honest with the monetary system.

Under a Federal audit the DEA failed miserably. And still continue to do so to this day however, their budget is increased every year.

Learn a lesson from The Drug War. It is mirroring what the FDA is doing to us right now. Control is easy to fake with a few headlines. Follow the cash. And always question intent.

It was already tenuous at best. Now I have little faith that things are going to get better before they get much worse... to the point of revolution (not necessarily a violent one). Things need MAJOR change, not just an Obama campaign slogan.

Seeing them repeat the strategy to demonize PV's as they did with marijuana (the one drug that should be legal without question) is very disconcerting. It shows how much the propaganda machine works and makes you wonder how often it's used on things we're not paying as much attention to. Our freedoms are whittled away more and more every day.

I have lost faith in the government. However I have lost even more faith in the citizens of this country. It is because of the sit back and wait for someone else to do something attitude that most citizens excercise that has allowed the government to become what it is now.

I personally get most annoyed when there's a viable 3rd party candidate that people will agree with nearly every issue on, but say, "I'm not going to throw my vote away."

If everyone who said that actually voted what they believed in, we'd get rid of this stagnant, wasteful, fearful, impotent 2-party plutocracy we've found ourselves in, and it wouldn't be a "throw-away-vote". The asses and the elephants have everyone so afraid that they can't vote any other way that we'll never have real change.

As long as the FDA continues their tests as they are, and not fully engage themselves in the entire industry, and test hundreds of samples instead of 15, then my faith in the FDA is fine - it's their lack of concern and their determination to discontinue the sale of electronic cigarettes that has caused me to lose faith.

I understand the FDA's position. I understand that e-cigs need to be regulated out of the reach of minors and non-smokers. What I don't understand is why they have an auto-ban attitude on them. That's just ignorant.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

What we're experiencing is the erosion of freedom. A government that's big enough to protect you like an overprotective parent from every single thing that can befall you (including your own decisions), is big enough to take every choice you have, away. Government needs to get out of the parenting business. It's completely insulting that they believe that they can convince us that they know what's best for us to the point where we give up every freedom we have.

It started with seatbelt and helmet laws, went on to smoking bans in private establishments, and now here we are. I don't know about you all, but I don't need another mother. I need government to respect my freedoms and choices, and so long as I'm not harming or trying to take away another person's freedom, they should STAY THE HELL OUT OF MY LIFE.

This whole thing is akin to government telling a gay couple that they can't have gay sex because they could get AIDS, simply because studies have shown that gay men get AIDS through sex more than any other demographic. Actually, the gay sex ban would make more sense than this ban, since no study has proven that e-cigs are harmful.

When are people going to stop expecting government to take care of them? Isn't the fact that we're free to choose and make our own mistakes--again, so long as we aren't harming anyone else--the beauty of freedom? The beauty of America? I don't have to like what you're doing, but as long as you're not harming anyone, why should I care what you do? Is individualism dead?

Ben Harper said it best, in his song Burn One Down:

Let us burn one, from end to end.
And pass is over to me my friend.
Burn it long, but burn it slow,
to light me up before I go.

If you dont like my fire, then dont come around.
Cause I'm gonna burn one down.
Yes I'm gonna burn one down

My choice is what i chose to do;
and if I'm causin no harm,
it shouldn't bother you.
Your choice is who you chose to be;
and if your causin to harm, then your alright with me.

If you dont like my fire, then dont come around, cause I'm gona burn one down.
Yes i'm gonna burn one, down.

Herb the gift, from the Earth,
and what's from the earth is of the greatest worth.
So before u knock it, try it first.
and you'll see it's a blessing and it's not a curse.
If you dont like my fire, then dont come around,
cause i'm gonna burn one down.
Yes i'm gonna burn one.

Obviously he wasn't talking about e-cigs, but the philosophy is the same.

Sorry. This was pretty long for my first post! ;-)
