So im hashing out mod...or really straight DIY ideas here for something I've been mulling over. This is more part of a "can I do this too" addition to my thoughts. Can you make a 5v boost circuit 2-3amp that'll fit in side the space of a 10mmx 20mm cylinder? I knows its probably not going to be easy if even possible. would it be any easier to do a buck down to 5v in the same space from about 7.2v?

the regulation of the circuit doesn't have to be perfect so possibly can leave some items off it. If its too impossible I'll just scratch that part of the design.

The highest rated boost board i know off is the TI PTN04050c series rated at 12 watts. so at 5 volts it is a 2.4amp max on the rating. But measuring the one i have here it is .500 wide so 12.7 mm hole would be the smallest it would fit into. You should be able to find a regulator to take it down with, that will fit. Might have to go with SMD mounting though to get the reg and caps all in that tight a space.
