I'll have to get a pack or two of the FDV bottom feed pins in. I use their 510 for my bf mods. I have not tried their feed pins yet. How does the FDV pin connect to the +block?
They are actually +pins that have been drilled out for bottom feeding to replace the original 2.5mm +screws in most atty's. They are basically the same as the 510 BF screws that are used with the FD classic 510's that are used in the Peko's and other BF'rs.

I may be wrong as I haven't checked them out, just saw images but I think those pos pins work for rdas like the derringer that has a simple post design

The Hastur has a threaded +post that is threaded the same as the Derringer and others and the FD screw works in them. I put one in mine and feeds / drains better than some I've got from others....

I received my Hastur today. Gave it a good soak and scrub, and got to building. Using an iPV3 and ITCVapes Spoonlicker OG max VG at 3mg. First, the included hex key is garbage. A standard 1/16" hex key works perfectly with the included screws.

I started with dual 24ga 1.5mm 9 wrap coils. It came in at .24 ohm. Wicked it with one piece of rayon over the center block (this works great in a Plume Veil) and vaped away. There was a ton of spit back, but the flavor was decent. Vapor production was so-so.

I yanked that build and threw in a single twisted 26ga 2.5mm 7 wrap coil at .66 ohm. Stuffed the coil with rayon and thinned/tucked the tails. Found a nice sweet spot at 50 watts. The flavor is singing to me! Vapor production is good to very good.

Day one verdict: I like it a lot. When I have some more time I'll try a Clapton to see if I can squeeze even more flavor out of it. The fact that the Hastur is leak-proof is icing on the cake.

Well I got it in the mail today and threw my first build on it. I put in dual twisted 28ga wrapped with 8 wraps, 2mm at about 0.7Ohms and wicked it with rayon and fired it up and tried it a few times. My build currently spits a lot so I'm gonna have to re-wick it tomorrow cause I'm too tired to redo it tonight but I think I'm gonna like it as soon as I stop it spitting juice lol. Also I won't lie the build deck is pretty small but workable for sure, plus I don't do any crazy builds, twisted micro coils is about all I do nowadays so the deck is manageable for me.

Edit: Also like other people mentioned, do not blow into it whilst waiting for the coils to heat up.

I decided to yank my single coil today and make a build for a mech. Ended up with dual 1.5mm 6-wrap twisted 28ga coils at .28 ohm. Did a center post (block???) build and positioned the coils as close to the wall as possible. Wicked with rayon and vaped on a copper SMPL with a VTC5 (I stocked up a long time ago, it's authentic lol). The flavor is absolutely top-notch, and with the airflow wide open it produces copious amounts of vapor upon demand. This has moved into my #1 spot as my favorite RDA. Just awesome!

One quirk to the Hastur: It's best vaped with the airholes aligned horizontally to your mouth. If they are vertical, it's possible that your lips can block them and it can be annoying. That's my only gripe, otherwise this thing's perfect in my eyes.

Do you have any issues with your new build wicked with rayon spitting juice through the drip tip? I've rewicked my dual twisted 28ga 2mm, (8 wraps?) also rayon wicked and so far I can't get it to stop throwing juice in my mouth. Not yet.

Only if I overdrip, and even then not very much. I find it's a lot like the Derringer, you really need to get the coils as far away from the center as possible without shorting them against the AFC ring. My slightly smaller diameter coils may have something to do with it as well, but I can't back that up.

Your build is exactly what I use in my Plume Veil with awesome results. I wick the Hastur like I wick the Plume, over the block. Here's a pic of the Plume before thinning out the rayon...

Edit: I am severely challenged when it comes to posting pics off my phone. Just picture one piece of wick going through both coils and over the center block shaped like a "Z".

Another edit: OK, here we go.

Ahh I gotcha, cool thanks for the info and the pic. I've never tried wicking like that before, I may have to give it a shot soon. I think I might be running into trouble with the direction I wrap my coils as well, with my builds the lead going under goes to the outer posts and the over lead to the center block so I had a hard time wicking the "left" sides of my coils since it's kinda cramped on that side. For sure not giving up on my build yet though, wicking is just an art I have not yet mastered.
