Yes, it will blink to let you know it is dying. I am trying to learn to recognize when it is getting low and switching batts before it flashes. So far I am not doing well! ;) Mine seem to work great until they die completely! lol

nope jenjen answered my question when i say dead i mean run down really but ty both for the quick response

OK, cool, just wanted to make sure you got what you needed!

I can tell exactly at what point a battery needs to be charged at this point. I get such consistent vapor that as soon as it drops off just a bit I know it's time to charge. I'm still trying to find that point on the super longs. I'm getting about 8 hours on these things with fairly heavy use.

You are such a tease. You are making it very hard for me to hold my order. I will wait for the sale and newness tomorrow - I will darn you! :D

im in the same boat as jen lol i cant tell a difference until it is time to charge it all seem the same to me.

I am still learning this myself. I tend to not be aware until I get irritated and wonder what is wrong. Then I check the light and see it's flashing, and then the lightbulb turns on in my brain. Oh yes, new battery time. I am not helping matters being permanently attached to my passthroughs, it make me even more oblivious to the battery requirements!

I've got a automatic VK (the one that you just drag on without pushing a button) and it seems after I take a drag on it for about 5-7 secs, the end blinks once and then shuts off. Is this something built into the unit as a safety shut off, or is something wrong with the battery? I charged it all night (8pm - 7:30am) and it started exhibiting this after about 2 hours off the charger (only puffed on it 20 or so times). I'm taking long, slow drags as to get the best vapor experience. Anyone else experience this?

Yes you are hitting the built in cut off on the battery. If you cut your puff short and start another puff you can get around the cutoff.

Sweet, just tested with the manual and it did the same thing, so that's what I figured. Thanks for the super quick reply dohsma! As always, VK and all the supporters/friends are the best. I've got a long flight to Europe in a week and the VK is definitely the answer. And, for those wondering, I called Northwest Airlines and talked to a supervisor to see if they'd be allowed on the plane. Their answer was as follows. "They are not allowed to be used on the plane, but are allowed in your carry-on luggage." What this pretty much tells me is, we know it exists, and we know it's fine, but we don't want you using it in public as we don't want to answer the questions about it so use it in the bathroom or something. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Years ago when smoking was first banned on flights, I went into the bathroom and very quickly smoked a cigarette. As soon as I walked out of the bathroom the flight attendant was standing in front of me with that "...... off look with a smile on her face". Evidently, I had set off the smoke detector in the cockpit and the pilot had notified her. I wasn't fined or kicked off the plane...I simply explained to her I didn't know any better. She did chew me out in a nice but ...... off manner. I never tried that stunt again..lol.
