This will be my first VV/VW device (currently using a Bolt).

So you can either choose to run it in VV or VW mode. If you run it in VV mode, you pick a setting and leave it there. If you want to change heads (I'm going to be using my Vivi Nova tank), then you also need to change the volts, correct?

But if you run it in VW mode, you pick a wattage, leave it there, and it automatically sets to the correct volts, per the ohm of the head you're using, correct?

I know it will vary for different people/different setups, but is there a general consensus as to what wattage works best? What comes into play when choosing a wattage?

VV = set it according to what head you have on.
In VV setting, the Vamo does not care what you have on it. It is trying to give you the volts you have it set for.

VW - set it to what you prefer. Most people will use between 6 to 9 watts.
If you go over 11watts, the Vamo will not give you that power unless you stack 18350's.

Over time your heads will start to change resistance. If you buy it at 2.4ohms....over time it might go 2.5...2.6..2.3...etc.
In VV, you need to check every once in awhile and then set your voltage according to where the head is.
In VW, the Vamo will try to do it for you. It is pretty good at it...but you still will find yourself changing the setting...but just less often.

With VW, I tend to change my wattage moreso on what juice I am using. Instead of what head I am using....

In my opinion, I prefer VW night and day. It just makes things easier....especially if you start to rebuild the Vivi Nova heads.

Yeah that ^.

You will find yourself playing with the wattage from time to time, generally when you switch liquids, but I bump the watts up and down from 5.0 to 7.0 watts, depending on whether I'm looking for flavor or vapor at the moment. Most of the day, I keep it at 6.5 to 7 for the warm vapor, but I'll set it lower right after I eat or drink something to get more flavor.

Edit: I generally use at 2.4 Ohm atomizer at 6.5 watts. I tried VV for about a half hour when I first got it, then switched to VW and havn't looked back since. In my opinion, having VV and VW is a bit of a waste, as VW is a superior option. It would be similar to having powered windows in a car, but also leaving the manual handles just in case you decide you want to put the windows down that way. Poor analogy, but it's the best I could come up with.:) I'm sure I'll think of something better 2 seconds after clicking the reply button.

Correct.

First time you use it start at low watts and click up to find what you like. Then you can change heads and stay at that watts. After that you will know the ballpark for what watts you like to vape at. You may still go up or down a little, but you'll know whereabouts you like it.
