Why would I have a lighter.
I used to say that there are 3 things that everyone should always carry on them. Powerful things that made a huge difference to humanity along the road of evolution.
Something to write with, a good cutting edge like a knife, and something to make fire.
Sadly in part, I no longer carry a lighter... But I know how to rub sticks together.

I use one to melt the end of a stick of hot glue before I dab the glue onto the ends of what's known as a "ribbon stack", i.e. a number of ribbon wire strands stacked in such a way that they are standing up vertically next to each other, to secure the alignment of the individual ribbon strands as a step in the process of building certain types of advanced coil builds that actually are rather famous among the die-hard flavor chasing populus, like, for example, the stapled helix coil build:

Nope, I don't consider vape equipment and like, cigarettes to be remotely similar enough for even myself to have tried that.

I think the modus operandi here might be "not sober" and also, "still has lighter." Don't get me wrong, I still have A lighter, I think they're useful but even transitioning I did not want to intermingle my vaping and smoking things.... The last thing I wanted to look at during my ecig detox was a lighter. To be fair, there were other things I didnt' really care to look at during detox, including light, the universe, people (especially people who wanted to interact with me, etc.) ad infinitum, I WAS CRANKY.

LOL.

Those were my rules, only it was 4 items. 4th being a pack of smokes.

I dropped the smokes but it took me a few years to drop the lighter (military).

Then I realized, I know how to start a fire with my mods.. (and about a dozen other things laying about.....).

I'm trying to come up with a smart ... response to this thread but it isn't coming, so....

Really? Lighting your e-cig? Seriously?
I know a guy who just about lit his face with his ecig while drunk...
Had a dripper that he pulled the cap off to drip in, got distracted and forgot to put the cap back on (held in his other hand) before taking a pull. He had a welt on his lip for a while...
Ladies and gentleman,
Don't drink and drip.
Accidents happen.

Couple of times with a cigalike. Melted the red tip on the end. Came close to doing it often. Just calculated I smoked about 350,000 cigs. Rolled my own for many years and you tend to light them more than once. If you do something half a million times it's hard to break the habit I guess. It's just muscle memory.

I've done this while sober, lol.
I took a phone call in the middle of painting some coils and while reading to the caller from my computer screen, I reached over, grabbed my mech and stuck a set of dual coils in my face.

Luckily, I pulled back as one coil barely touched my lip. Thank goodness my office door was closed.
Although, I'm sure my expletives were heard for quite a distance.
That isn't really an uncommon thing so no one took notice.

Especially those who stop at my table and ask "Whatcha reading". Is that supposed to be a conversation starter?
