Gotten home from work, to see that shiny new atty waiting for you (Tobecco Velicity for me). Like a kid on Christmas, ripped it out of the box, cleaned it up and build your coils and load them up, vape away...only to be let down.

So you deal with it for the day, burning through juice, you get home anxiously waiting to get started on that second build, skip your various chores and get those wire gauges humming...

Only to be let down a second time. You question your skills, your purchase, and perhaps even your sanity, wondering to yourself where the hell did the last 45 minutes of your life go to...and promptly start your third try.

That was me today, almost two hours killed before wifey got home futzing with coils...but that moment, when the build matches the atty (for me in this case is was a single fused 24 gauge nichrome with 36 outer wrap that did it), that bliss from the first inhale on a nice juice...it makes it all worth while.

And of course, I already started on the fourth build ( dual 26 gauge kanthal fused coils to keep the ohms at .2 or so). Eagerly awaiting that moment when the house is quiet, and the wife is in bed so I can load them up.

So to you, my friends, my fellow builders, all who pursue that perfect vape, who spend hours hunched over a dimly lit bench to get that perfect coil, that smooth vape, that popping flavor, or those billowing thunderclouds that set off fire alarms two rooms away, I raise my mod and salute you all.

Though you might not be able to see it through the clouds.

((sorry all, just feeling a bit goofy)).

The kayfun I got pretty quickly, and it was my first rebuildable. The one atty that i've never been able to get right is the Lemo 2. I think my juice preferences are to thick for it to manage well. Tried all the wicking methods, coiling methods etc..nadda.

Oh, and, just stripped out the 3rd build from the velocity (lasted all of 3 or 4 hours) and put in the dual fused build at .23 ohms...vast improvement over the first and second builds, slight improvement over the third single coil build...I think I'm settled with it for now. :vapor:

Never a problem. I watch reviews on the clone I am gonna buy. I watch a few builds, starting with Rip Trippers. I open a bag of pre made coils from fasttech... right now 26/32 claptons ( ten bucks for a bag of 50 ). I wick with pill bottle cotton, or the sallys beauty cotton that gets sold at shops as "cotton bacon" and I always get an amazing vape for around 11$ that includes the clone, the coils and the cotton.

Never had much luck with pre built coils...and have never tried prebuilt Clapton coils. But I can whip up solid Clapton's in no time...fused are a different matter.

I did the fastech thing with attys for a while, it treated me well but I'm trying to restrict myself to buying sub 100$ authentics attys only. I was going to make an exception for the velocity..but while I am enjoying the vape on the clone, I'm not sure its worth both the premium and wait of the authentic.

I have been on the mailing/waiting list for the Velocity for over two months now. I broke down and bought a Velocity clone a few weeks ago and I do like it. I'm not doing any special builds on it. I think I've got a dual 26 gauge with 10 wraps each coming in at about .75 ohms. 40-45 watts on that does me just fine. I'm finding the 6mg juices I run in my subtank are way too strong on the Velocity. Need to tone them down.

Yesterday I finally got the email from Avid Vaper saying they were in stock. I was in the middle of an installation at a datacenter and just had to sit down and ordered it right there. It arrives early next week. Can't wait.
