Have you guys ever thought about making your own toppers?

So my buddies father is moving to Arizona in a few days, and he has a beautiful 4-chuck micro-lathe, capable of shaping high grade aluminum, and even stainless steel with the proper bits. And he wanted a measly 100 smackers for it.

So it's freaking mine now! Are you kidding me? lol.

-I purchased it with other things in mind, however when I got home and smacked myself I realized I can easily make my own mods, intricate toppers, and even some unique drip tips if I feel jiggy. I also have a drill press that's pretty fancy, and can do almost anything with a few touch ups of the dremel. What gave me the idea in the first place was dreaming of the Tatroe T1 RDTA: Tatroe T1 RDTA 5 pack Basically my dream, an rda with a manual dripping reservoir above it, however I'm ready to purchase it, but I'll have to wait until the end of the month to get it (not a big deal).

-But I thought it's a simple enough design, the right o-rings, and pyrex tube sizes aren't hard to find, and neither is the hardware. All I need to worry about is shaping the RDA base, and the top cap/drip tip hole. The deck it'self can be found in the right mm on fasttech I'm sure.

-What do you guys think? Has anyone ever shaped some metal? I think it'd be cool to build my own genesis if not the T1, they aren't exactly rocket science. I'd love any thoughts or advice. Thanks in advance!
