Having a hard time picking batteries

So I just upgraded from the g priv 220w to the g priv 2 230w, and I'm looking to get some new batteries. I vape anywhere from 60w to 100w and I puff all day. If anyone has any recommendations for me, that'd be awesome

If 100W is your absolute max and you won't get over that mark then it only depends on how deep the batteries are discharged by the mod. If it cuts off at 3.2V then you need batteries with at least 18A CDR, if it cuts off at 2.8V then you need batteries with at least 20A CDR (10% loss from the mod included).
If you need to re-compute because you want even higher wattage the formula is

maxWatts/(2*2.8V) = min battery CDR, then add 10% for losses in the mod.

The alien, also from smok, discharged batteries to 2.8V, so if we can't find out what the value is for the g-priv 2 then it would be better to go with that just to be safe.

I'm thinking about going with the Sony 18650VTC6 3000mAh 20A CDR. Just so I can have more battery life. Would that make sense to do?

The VTC6 doesn't have 20A CDR, it's a 15A battery (look at Mooch's rating)! You can only safely use it as a 20A battery if you have battery temperature monitoring, which effectively none of our mods have.
I wouldn't recommend it for the power settings you're aiming to use.

From what i remember from vaping years ago, the Sony VTC6's lasted the longest and threw alot of power in to my vaping sessions

If you don't exceed 100 watts, go with the Samsung 30Q or the LG HG2

Agree with the Samsung 30Q, or the 25R which is 20A 2,500 mAh. Fine if you're under 120W on a dual battery mod.
