I threw half a carton out.

Anyway, I started at 36mg because I feared having to go back. At that nic level I took 1-2 hits and was good for an hour. I am down to about 20mg. I just went with my urges and relized that it took a little long after the hit to let it get into my system. I just follow my urges. More nic, less hits. Less nic, more hits.

I wasn't concerned about vaping clouds back then.

OMG, I felt guilty over flushing a 1/2pack.! I did feel good though.

Allow me to add my own $.02 from experience. When you do finally get over the hump and quit smoking, don't do what I did and take a huge leap from 24mg/ml down to 12. I fell off the wagon by doing this after almost 8 weeks smoke free. I would suggest once you are ready to lower your nic content do it more gradually. It's been tough to get myself back on the vaping routine again but in a few weeks my parents and I are moving back to Wisconsin and that'll be a perfect time for me to get back on. Won't have a job so my money will be set aside for gas for my car and car payments. Won't have spare money to burn.

Best of luck and don't beat yourself up, every ciggie avoided is a victory in and of itself. Just give it time :)

Everybody finds their own way. It took me 5 days to quit - I immediately was down to just a few cigs a day, and I kept pushing that first one off further until I didn't get around to lighting up. I carried cigs with me for the first couple weeks - made sure I had some in my car, in my desk drawer, etc. I didn't want to feel panicked if I really needed one. It felt good to look at them and say, "No, thanks" on my terms. Just a couple months ago, I threw out a couple dusty 4-year-old packs that were in a drawer in the garage.

You might want to try some unflavored juice - it's pretty pleasant-tasting, and if you like it, it'll save you a bunch of dough.

I was a 2 pad smoker. I am now 10 days in with no smoking whatsoever. I threw away everything cigarette related in my house and start each day with a 'I will not smoke today till I go to sleep' and get up the next day and do it again. I have 24mg juice and sometimes all I do is vape but I am finding those times less and less. When I feel like a smoke, I come to this forum or else get my cc out and just buy more vaping stuff. Hehe. Keep it up. It gets easier. I quit last year for 9 months and I am going to get there again. Cheers

Here is what I did and it worked. No one else here has suggested it yet. I had 2 egos going at a time, 1 with 18-24mg, 1 with 8-10mg in it. When I really needed the nic I would hits of the high nic, when I needed the hand mouth action I would hit the one with the lesser nic in it. It helped me with both parts of the addiction, the need for nic and the need for the action. I quickly found out that with the higher nic, if I kept hitting on it made me a little sick if I kept hitting on it to appease my hand mouth need, hence the switching them up.

Just a thought

I both smoked and vaped for 3 months before I finally quit cigs for good. I didn't rush myself. I had to have time to find some decent juice and build up my gear and know it would support me when I finally made the switch. Back then, there wasn't the wide variety of products there are today. I was able to quit smoking using the little manual 510 batts, dripping on a standard resistance atty.

Don't rush yourself but you do have to actually want to quit smoking. But then again I've read numerous accounts of people who just tried them, with no intention of quitting smoking and it just happened without them trying. I have a friend at work who's played around with ecigs for 3 years now (I introduced them to her) but loves her cigarettes so much she doesn't really want to quit. She bought a ego/evod from me a few weeks back and I asked her the other day if the evod needed cleaning and she said she hasn't finished the juice in it yet

Wow! Thanks again everybody. Honestly without trying to make an excuse; one of the reasons it is so hard for me is my wife smokes too. We both started vaping together but she doesn't act like she really wants to quit. Vaping was her idea but she just keeps saying that she really really likes the taste of real cigs. I guess what I have to do is just completely make up my mind that regardless of what she does, I'm gonna vape instead.

Well, I actually used 2 methods to quit smoking. I'm very motivated by finances - so I sat down and added up how much I was spending on analogs compared to how much I would spend on vaping. After seeing those numbers ($5-10/day vs $1/day | $150-300/month vs $30/month), I was definitely motivated enough.

But the 2nd method I used was probably what really did it for me. I actually made it a point to stop smoking for about 1-2 weeks; strict vaping only. After that point, I tried an analog again - and it was my last. After adjusting to vaping for 1-2 weeks, that analog just tasted like pure ash pouring into my lungs. If nothing else, I would suggest you push yourself to try only vaping for a small period of time and slowly increase the time. I'm sure that eventually, you'll no longer need/want that analog.

I just vaped instead of smoking when I had the urge to smoke. If the urge returned, I just vaped again. I used the 24mg as well. As time went on the desire to smoke just kept going down.

Sorry to hear you are having some difficulty. The above has been my experience also. I just leaned very heavily on the vapor in the early stages of quitting. I vaped the urge to smoke away, so that I no longer had an urge to smoke a cigarette. One of the keys for me was killing off that urge for nicotine with vapor. Unlike what others have said, vapor and vaping was a complete substitute for cigarettes, and I leaned on the vapor very heavily in the early stages. Another key was the flavors. I had flavors that I liked, as well as nicotine, and no urge for nicotine from an analog.

I reasoned, "What in the world do I need a cigarette for?"
Hope this helps ya....

Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
I wasn't trying to quit. It just happened by itself AFTER I found a flavor I liked.

I just decided to vape A LOT and smoke cigs when I felt like. I felt like smoking less and less naturally, and one morning I decided to try not smoking with my coffee.

That's all she wrote.

I still have the last cigarette that was left in the pack. It comforts me somehow.

I'm sure it would taste terrible if I tried to smoke it...lol

You can also try grabbing a bottle of WTA liquid. Whole Tobacco Alkaloid. It has more of the tobacco in it than just nicotine. Our bodies crave more than just nicotine.

I found it a year later and tried it. I wish someone would have pointed to it in the early days of me vaping. I may have stopped the craving much earlier.

It isn't that much more expensive than regular liquids.
