I can't post in the newbie section anymore, even though I feel like this is definitely a newbie question, lol. Help though. I've been analog free for 18 days now, but the last couple days I've had a noticible problem with a twitch in my left eye. It only twitches when I vape, and I tried to ignore it, but it got worse, and was a real pain. I started to think it was my nic level, since I've been happily chain vaping 24 mg since the start of this a couple weeks ago. Every now and then I'd start to get a little headache, and put down the pv for a while, but it wasn't often.

Last night I decided to really cut down on the nic level as much as possible to see if the twitch goes away. I started vaping 8 mg most of the time, with an occasional vape of 24mg to quell analog cravings. It is working, and the twitch is all but gone, it appears occasionally if I prolong the 24mg vaping too much, BUT and here's the big ...., I"m having a harder and harder time fighting analog cravings.

Has anyone experienced eye-twitching due to nicotine levels? I don't know what to do. I don't want to go back to analogs, but I seem to need 24 mg to be happily rid of them, but my eye seems to react to it.

Wanted to add I've also tried 18 mg, and 12 mg, 12 mg seems to help the eye twitching thing too, but it is still there a little... but even those levels don't completely stop the cravings

That's one I've never heard of before but I guess anything is possible. Were you a fairly heavy smoker, like over a pack a day of full-flavor cigarettes? If yes, the nicotine level shouldn't be a problem. If you were a lighter smoker, maybe the nic level is a problem.

Are all of your juices the same in terms of PG/VG ratios?

Hi VapingRulz, I was a pack and a half a day smoker of regular cigarettes for about 40 years, so I REALLY didn't think the level would be an issue, however it could be the fact that I was pretty much chain vaping. Still though, my amounts didn't seem out of line, I averaged about 3ml a day. That didn't seem outrageous to me either.

I thought about the PG/VG levels, I have all different levels, but if it was a reaction to either of those, the lower nic level wouldn't really affect it would it???

I have personal experience with the eye twitching. 9 times out of 10, it will have nothing to do with Nicotine or vaping, this is most likely something to do with eye strain and/or stress.

I started having the problem years ago and it would come and go and I could never really attribute it to anything in particular. So I asked my doc about it and he asked me to start noting when they happened, how many hours or days and to note the things happening to me around the time they start, then to finish.

Turned out, it was happening during any minor change in my life/daily routine.

It is a common way for the body to release stress. Also, if you are staring at a screen, any kind of screen for any amount of time that can be excessive. If I am on the PC or watching tv for more than a couple of hours at a time, they start to happen.

Your body is going through some major changes when you stop smoking and is busy trying to repair itself while your brain is screaming for the addiction to be filled.

When they start to happen, my advice to you, is to go lie down in a nice quiet dark room and rest, even take a nap. If something is stressing you, try taking a bath or putting it off to finish or worry about another time. Take some pain reliever.

IF it becomes so bothersome that it is beginning to interfere with you daily life, refer to your doc who might refer you to an optometrist :) Keep us updated!

Thanks Em! Maybe it is just a symptom of withdrawal in general. I have been trying to take a nap when I feel it getting bad, and it does help, but it comes back almost immediately when I get up. It's been pretty good today, but I've limited my vaping to low levels of nic... however, that's what prompted the help plea, because I'm also having a very hard time controlling my cravings.

I don't know, maybe I am just messed up. It's just been 18 days, and really I haven't had any other withdrawal problems -- maybe I was just being too lucky, and this is it. LOL

I do have to stare at the computer a lot. I work online. That certainly isn't anything new though, and it hasn't been any kind of particularly stressful this week.

It's already been mentioned about what your pg/vg ratios were so thats covered.
How about what kind of flavors your vaping. Are you using a lot of tobacco flavors or a lot of sweets. You could try switching up your flavorings, and it could be something in your flavors that does not agree with you.
Good luck & keep us posted

Hum, a flavor thing, that's VERY interesting. In fact, this eye=twitch thing just started in the last couple days. It will be tough to nail a flavor exactly because in those couple days I got a LOT of new juice. I may go back to using the juices I had prior to these new shipments, just to see if the eye thing calms down a bit, and then gradually trying new ones to see if it starts up again. Thanks for the idea that jogged me to think about the new shipments.

I want to thank you all for jumping in to help out... I think we have a winner here. After getting the hint to check on the possibility of a reaction to a flavor, I switched back to RY4=24mg, and am having NO reaction. I'm thinking it was the chocolate liquer flavor that I just got a few days ago and had been vaping heavily. Sucks, cause I liked it, but it looks like that might be the culprit. I'll let you know if it changes, but if that's the problem, it's certainly not the worst problem in the world, lol.

Over the edge...
Tami, I started vaping VG liquids. While trying out different flavors, I got some that were high PG (up to 70%). I started having some unusual symptoms shortly thereafter. Dry skin, itch mouth, throat and skin, and eye twitching. i went back to 100% VG and all those symptoms were gone within a week. I'm not trying to imply that's what is happening with you - apparently your sensitivity is to flavorings. Just putting it out there.

Thanks, base, good to know though. Something else to watch for. Even though I don't think that's the problem because the flavors I had previously with no problems were various mixtures of pg/vg, you just never know if there's one particular blend that kicks it in the wrong direction I guess. I'll keep that in mind too as I go on, just in case something turns up, so I don't automatically assume it is the nic level.

To be honest I really think is related to stress more than vaping. I was in Philly with a really stressful situation and from that situation I received a twitch. The twitch lasted for about a month and it still happens from time to time when I get very stressed out. So if you are stressing out alot maybe that is a cause of it?
Hope this helped out some oh also I have been making my own juice and vaping at pretty high levels (36mg max) and never got the twitch.

I will definitely keep an eye on it on3fifth. I appreciate the heads up. I'm not particularly stressed though, except for quitting itself may be a stressor. (duh huh? lol) but, after ditching that other flavor, and going with the ry4, and I even did some pineapple 24mg, I haven't had a problem yet, and it showed up RIGHT AWAY with the other one. I'm not throwing the flavor out just yet, I'll see what happens over the next day or so, and if I don't twitch with the "standard" flavors, I'll give the other a try again and see what happens.

Yeah give it a few days, I still say its one of these 8 things

\Corneal irritation or injury
Stress
Lack of sleep
Fatigue
Prolonged staring or eye strain
Alcohol
Caffeine
Neurological disorders
Possibly Hereditary

they do tend to be sporadic as well. Also on a side note, depending on how long you were a smoker, it could be your subconscious that stressing out to the max and going back to an original flavor you were comfortable with could have kicked your subconscious into relax mode.

I know it sound silly but the human brain is AMAZING!
