So I've been having a huge problem with cartomizers.

I use 3 ohm cartos and prime with about 50 drops. I usually let them soak for about 15 minutes before putting them in my tank and filling up. At first I was having issues because I used 20 drops (because I used to use lower res cartos) so I looked it up and what I got out of it was I wasn't using enough. 50 drops worked fine for a bit. For some reason recently (as in the past few months) I've been burning out cartos in under a day.

I haven't changed anything about the way I prime them, but I don't think I'm getting lemons because I only get about 1 of them to last more than a few days out of every 5 or so that I make. I don't know if it's just me or what lol. I also have burning issues with my evod, and I would burn juice in my AGA-T2 also (but that's because I wouldn't tilt it enough).

I'm using 50/50 juice (Two Peas at the local B&M).

I usually use 5 volts, but have to lower it as the resistance gets lower to prevent burnt taste.

When I vape it makes a sizzling sound, but no popping. The resistance drops from 3.0 to 2.8 instantly, and slowly starts getting lower with every few drags or so. There is a VERY slight burnt taste, but it's hard to tell if it normally tastes that way or not because I just switched to a flavor I've never tried before.

Anyone have any tips?

I use 3 ohm cartos a lot but I don't get anywhere near 50 drops in them so maybe you're using mega cartos. I only get a couple days out of my Boge cartos but I use high VG and sweet fruity flavors which gunk up the cartos faster. Two Peas doesn't sound fruity so that's probably not what's gunking up your cartos quickly. All I can suggest is you lower your voltage. 3 ohms at 5v is at the high end of the power chart, meaning you're almost into the "burn your juice" range which will also burn your carto. I usually use 4.2 - 4.5v for a 3 ohm carto depending on what mod I use.

I agree with tm that 8+ watts is way too high for any carto to handle, even if it's tanked. Cartos have filler and even the slightest dry hit will cause that filler to burn. If you're using cartos, stay within 5.5-6 watts range and see if that helps (for your 3Ω carto that would mean 4-4.2v).

Since you didn't tell us what size cartos you're using, I have no idea if the 50 drops makes sense or not. A standard size cartomizer has a capacity of 1 ml--roughly 20-25 drops, depending on the size of your dropper. An XL carto holds ~1.5 ml--30-40 drops. Some of the XXL cartos hold 2.5 ml. So, know the capacity of your cartomizer and adjust the amount of eliquid accordingly.

Fill your cartos from the bottom by saving the little rubber condom that they are packed with- the one that doesn't have an inner nipple, pour juice into that and slowly and gently press the atty screw side down, into it nice & slow. That will ensure you're getting juice to the bottom where the coil is and prevent it from going dry where you need it to stay moist. Then drip on top to get juice throughout all of the filler.

As mentioned above you're issue is related to running it too hot. Generally, when I vaped cartos I'd get a low res at 1.5-2ohm and rip it at 3.7-4.2v; At 2.4ohms 5-ish volts, etc.

The two causes of the burning mannequin flavor is likely running it too high or too dry or both. Soak it like I said and run it lower, or get something better than cartos and you'll taste your juice like you never will on a carto & be able to push large satisfying plumes.

Wow, moist, nipple & condom... I'm writing about cartos right? Sorry for my immature reflection. Please don't report/ban me, lol. I was just trying to help.
