Hi all. I have been vaping a couple months now. My primary is a provari with 24mg juice, though I have used 30 & 36mgs. I also tried wta. My problem is that regardless of the brand of ejuice I use, I get this awful dry chemically taste in the back of my mouth. I keep reading about people who love the taste of their ejuices. I just can't seem to get there. And I think I have tried them all....HHS, MBV, ms t, allusions...all the best ones from what I can tell. I use the cartomizer tanks. Am I doing something wrong? If anyone has any words of advise, I would be most appreciative. Thanks so much. Please help. And, yes, I am drinking plenty of water.

I would try getting a cheap atomizer and dripping a little, just to double-check it's not the equipment.

Do you DIY? If you have access to unflavored liquid, you could see if that gives you the same taste. Then you'd know if it was the flavors or not.

Maybe even get straight glycerin from the drug store and try to vape that to see if you still taste it.

My only other idea, and it's a long shot, is that you're inhaling straight to your lungs as if you were breathing through a straw. Try to play with it in your mouth first like a cigar and see if it's your technique.

I think if you did all four of those you'd be able to narrow this down to the hardware, the flavors, the propylene, or the technique... or you just don't like the flavor.

Thank you all. I haven't been able to figure out how to drip. Either I flood it or it is burnt. I am using the dripping atomizer that came with my provari. I have tried direct to the lungs and holding it in my mouth first, tho that is hard to do. Old habits do die hard.interesting that you should ask about when the taste comes. Usually the fist couple of capes are great. After 5 or6,that is when things start to take a down turn. I will try drinking more water.
I really appreciate all of your help and insight. I want to make this work so much,

Hey there! Sorry you're having a rough time. Do you have a near by vape shop you could go to to sample some juice before you buy it. I also wonder if you're priming your cartos well enough. I agree though you may want to grab a nova or 2 just so you can double check & make sure it's the juice. Don't give up!! Once you figure things out they'll get much easier. Be sure to checkout Baditude's blogs on cartos & cartotanks. They've been a life saver for me!

Just to check & make sure that its not the juice. I love cartotanks & use them exclusively now! Now that I think of it...are you getting the same taste no matter the flavor? A couple of weeks ago I was driving myself mad because I kept getting the same bad taste in my carts no matter what flavor I used. But they were all from the same vendor. After taking a moment to put them in one of my old novas I realized that it wasn't the cartos...it was the juice! The smell was great but the flavor wasn't there yet. They needed to steep longer. I've also gotten that weird chemical flavor on the first draw when I didn't prime my carto really good. The next drag after that was the taste if a burning carto. Yuck!!

Can u use the vivi nova on the provari? Why would it be better than other cart tanks? Have seen a lot of people mentioning them. Probably worth a try. Unflavored juice makes sense, too.
Thanks chimney. I will check out those blogs

It's not that they would be better, I was just wanting to suggest you try something different. Like a lot of people around here like T3's but I hate them so it's really subjective.

Also +1 for Chimney's suggestion to try a few diff juice vendors. It could take some time before you find what's right for you. Took me 5 months :)

All over the place
I would suspect its the JDS (juice delivery system.) This is where juices, PVs and vaping in general is made or broken. Having the proper JDS, or at least, the JDS that works right for you is THE biggest thing to figure out. Trust me, I used to use pre-filled cartos (loooong time ago) and never understood why my mouth tasted like heated plastic--it wasn't the juice.

Hang in there and move to a different forum here on ECF for awhile and start the great, but never-ending, research of JDSs. I just rock Joyetech (2.2 ohm) attys because after its all said and done, I like hot vapes and plenty of flavor and TH; having a "tank" filled with one juice never appealed to me. Its all about what appeals to you, though, I don't think a bad taste appeals to anyone.
