Having a very sudden problem with a Nautilus BVC less than a week old?

Everything was going along fine, then suddenly lots of vapor but not much flavor. Then the vapor began to taste burnt? I changed coils, primed it a little, then tried it. It was worse. I cleaned out the old coil, primed then lots of vapor and no flavor again. Then began to taste burned again. Almost an electric burnt taste, not the usual sickening sweet burnt taste. I'm out of ideas at the moment. Is there anything you can soak a coil in to really clean it out? Is there something else going on here?

Maybe a low battery? I've already charged it twice today though? I got a replacement battery less than 24 hours after buying the Nautilus/eGo C-twist combo. I brought it home, charged overnight, and it was dead by lunchtime. I charged it fully, then it lasted a half hour and died again. As a replacement I was given a Smoktech adjustable very similar to the twist. I did notice just now, that the battery started flashing soon after the bad taste started. It's a little disappointing of course, since I bought my first E-cig which was a pen type, at a convenience store for 15 bucks. That battery lasted a month? I've had two back to back nice batteries that seem to be defective. The cheapie also lasted from early in the morning (5am) to 9-10 at night? So far both "good" more expensive batteries can't seem to last more than four hours. I am not using the new setup any more than the old one?

Never tried my Nautilus on an EGO--I'll do that and report back.

I switched from EGO styles simply because the "pen styles" only last 2-4 hours to begin with.

I use mine on MVP2 and iStick--both which have 2-3 times the battery capacity of most ego pen batteries.
I usually run in the 12 W range (something the ego pen won't do.)
Also I never "clean" my BVC coils, just run similar flavors through them.

Never have had a burnt taste and the coils seem to last "forever"---but I make sure to buy genuine Aspire coils in bulk.
Though I haven't personally had one, coil produced en masse like these ups the possibility of a lemon.
Have you tried a different coil?

Yep, when it first started I screwed the spare coil from the box in. Tasted like burnt machine oil, then started making vapor, then turned into a combo of burnt flavor and machine oil.

Gonna try it again.... The first coil started to "snore" for lack of a better word. Not gurgling, like someone with a slight snoring problem, lol. Hard to explain.

Right now it's making decent vapor... But the second hit or so after you pick it up, the burnies come back. Still not the full flavor it should have either, IMHO.

Cleaned the hell out of it just now, coil, tank, everything. Now making lots of vapor, almost no flavor at all, and a nasal nicotine burn. This making me nuts, and I am about ready to trash this thing. I am supposed to have some other flavors coming in today or tomorrow, so I will try one of those. I don't believe it's vapor tongue, as I would be able to smell the flavor at least, correct?

One thing I noticed, when I clean it? The water runs freely out of the bottom of the coil, where it has the holes on either side of the battery contact? Is it supposed to do that? It doesn't seem to leak E fluid down there when assembled, maybe a little around the threads but that's it.

Now it's sucking the fluid right up the mouthpiece with the old coil.. Just about had it....sigh

The new coil seems to be working now. The old one is in the trash, The effort to pull air through was four times what the new one is. It was clogged, with no apparent way of really getting the airflow back. Less than four days per coil is not going to work for me though. Not unless I can find a way to really clean them out, without poisoning myself in the process. I guess my favorite flavors are thicker than average? I didn't seem to have any trouble at all with the completely clear menthol flavor. The "coffee" is a solid brown, almost black in fact.

The new coil is working so well I can barely see the computer screen when I exhale, lol.

And as of right now, the Smoktech battery has been on the charger about 3 hours 15 minutes. It's still not fully charged. Is my charger screwed up too? If I leave it to charge overnight while I am sleeping, the light is green by the time I wake. About 6-7 hours usually, so I do not know at which point it finished.

Are you using BVC's or BDC's? The old aspire BDC coils all tasted nasty to me, so I gave up on aspire tanks. But then the BVC's came out and I'm lovin aspire again. A lot of aspire tanks ship with the BDC coils installed, I forgot that on the last tank I ordered and loaded it up with juice, yuck it was nasty! Sure enough, the coil they sent with it was a BDC. Now I always check the stock coil on new tanks and switch out any BDC's I find before loading the tank.

They were both BVC. I am not sure why I am having this experience, unless it's the juice being too thick, or too sweet, etc. I went out for an hour or two just now, and carried it with me. It now feels clogged again already, with one tank full. Right before I pulled into the driveway, it felt like it spit a couple of chunks as I was vaping. Right now I have the new coil(the one I was just using) soaking in a small container of alcohol. It seems to be opening up a little, and puts out brown liquid when I blow through it. Once my menthol comes in, I probably won't be using much other than that. It is crystal clear, and seems to have no sweetener in it. The battery might last a little longer too, not having to suck as hard to get a hit from it, while holding the button down too long.

The alcohol looks like a shot of whiskey now, lol! After a few blow throughs soaking in alcohol, it seems to be flowing air rather well, and is putting out less junk. The last one had some black coloring to it. Nasty! Unfortunately I have a wedding to go to tonight(someone I don't know) and need to go out for a haircut. The vape store is in the same neighborhood. While I am out I am going to grab 2-3(maybe 5?) new coils, and a spare battery so I can make it through a day without jonesing, haha.

That may be why. I don't often use dark, thick or sweet liquids, I vape mostly light color menthols and mints, and high PG to VG ratio. They are probably easier on the coils than the thicker stuff. I hope you get it all working well for you though. I have never tried to clean or soak the BVC's, they usually last a week or two so I feel like I got my use out of them. I used to use all kanger, and I could get months out of them, but it was and endless cycle of cleaning and re-wicking. I am enjoying the maintenance free BVC's, but I wouldn't be opposed to a vodka soak if it would extend their life a bit longer.

I just poured the tank out, upon returning from the vape store and haircut. It made a thick black non runny puddle on the sink, That even when hit with water the color stayed until rubbed off. That HAD to be it! Since the promised replacement menthols and other free flavors from Vape On haven't arrived yet, I picked up a bottle of menthol from the shop. I asked him about it being amber colored, and he made a quick comment about the nicotine discoloring it, which I didn't really buy since Vape On menthol is clear and didn't leave me needful for nicotine. Whatever, it's a lot thinner and hopefully less prone to clogging and/or burning on the wick. I got a MONTH out of my cheapo pen coil and battery, but still waiting for the "quality" equipment to live up to that. Maybe now that I not trying to vape used manual transmission gear oil it should.

That makes sense though, cause the coil on the cheapo pen started malfunctioning soon after I got the coffee flavor and seemed to be revived somewhat by the clear menthol. I wonder if I could clean the coil on the cheapo, and it would still work. A month seems like a long time for one coil to still function, but with the menthol it was clouding up huge, and still going when I bought the nautilus. (until I used the coffee in it that is.)
