Having a Weird Problem With My Kayfun......

Hey everyone. Hope all is well. I'm having a weird issue with my kayfun. This might be a wicking issue since I rewicked last night, but not too sure. After sbout 3-5 pulls, I'm tasting burnt. I then unscrew the top of the kayfun and air bubbles come up from what I'm assuming is the juice well.

Anyone ever experience a similar issue? Any ideas other than to just keep taking the top off?

Thanks so much in advance. I really appreciate this board.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Yes, this is a common issue and usually caused by improper wicking. Keep loosening the top until you finish the tank, then rewick. That I've figured out, dry hits are usually caused by not enough cotton, or the cotton being out of position so the liquid cannot feed into it from the juice channels in the deck.

If you have too much wick or it's down in the juice channels, this usually causes flooding, so I don't think it's too much wick.

Just to be on the safe side, when you are rewicking, make sure all the o rings are in place and seated properly. If they are loose, it usually causes flooding, but it can't hurt to check. You might also check to make sure your air paths are free flowing by blowing through to make sure this isn't part of the issue.

Finally, thicker e-liquids that contain more VG will often show up a poorly wicked kayfun. So if you recently changed your e-liquid from a different ratio, it could be this as well.

I fought with my KFL+ for the first week I had it cause I kept trying to trim my wicks on the deck and 'eyeball' it like all the pictures and vids I had seen.. I finally sat down one night and watched Vaperev's 'how to' video (theyre an authorized Svoemesto dealer, I figured they might know) and followed the ladies lead for wicking.. Once you get your cotton in the coil, pull the tails straight up, put the chimney on (without the top cap obviously) and cut the wicks at the top of the chimney.. Then I take off the chimney, juice the wick and push it down against the sides of the posts with the little screwdriver that came with it.. Put the chimney back on, reassemble, and I havent had a bad tank since (aside from trying out my own homemade juices this past week haha).. Its ALMOST as easy as rebuilding one of my old Kanger heads now..
