Unless, I am missing something or doing it wrong, I don't want all the posts with the any of the keywords in them.

I want the posts that have ALL the keywords in them.

Is there a way to do this?

Also, if I am searching for posts, why do the search results give me the whole threads instead of just the posts containing my keywords? I don't want to read through many pages of posts, just to find one or two posts.?

When I do a search by keyword and name, I still get threads, not posts.

Hah. "Thos are not parens" (these are parens).

I want to go see if things like wildcards* and root extenders! will work.
I could get quite precise in searching!

Putting parentheses around your all your keywords will give you a short results list. For example: "keyword keyword keyword"

Whatever the marks are called it works and I thank you :)

maybe they are quotation marks?

Naw. Your computer thinks it's 00100010. :D

Ok, the quotes answers the question for specific word phrases.

But still does not answer the question about posts. If I am looking for a particular post, say by me, a search still brings up the entire thread, not just the specific posts.

Or I am looking for single posts, with a specific word phrase, I still get the entire thread, no just single posts.

How do I just get single posts?

Take this thread for instance. 50% of the posts in this thread, have nothing to do with what I asked. I don't want to have to read all the other posts just to find an the posts I want to read.

You can have the search results list posts, or threads. Again, Advanced Search is your friend. Set the specific search parameter, include the username of the person who posted it (if you can remember) and then scroll down further and select the result format you desire (Posts or threads). I just did a search for "maple" AND "leaf" with my username and had it show the results as posts. I got 9 results (which should be about right).

Sorry, I do use advanced search. I put in "Davide" and 90quattrocoupe, highlight posts, and still get the whole thread that my posts are in. I don't get my posts singled out alone.

You aren't scrolling down and selecting the result type then.

Select Advanced Search.

Select the Search Single Content tab.

Ensure Search Type reads Posts.

Enter your search parameter.

Enter the username of the person who made the past (if you know that info)

Scroll down and select the Show Results As option.

The google can also be used to find stuff in ecf:
Code:
site:e-cigarette-forum.com baditude blog
Parenthesis also work to force exact phrases in google.
Code:
site:e-cigarette-forum.com "i am new here"
Hanzo.

Or.... quote marks. :)
