Simple rule with the ViVi Nova, if you are getting dry scratchy hits TURN THE VOLTAGE DOWN These are not boge cartos, and the voltage/ohm ratios for a carto simply do not apply.

Now understand that this is with an apple flavor that likes a lower voltage even in a carto, but i am running my mini Nova with the 2.4ohm head at 3.3v to get the best taste.

I have a vivi nova tank (the larger of the two) that i have had for a week or so and it works great with the 1.8 ohm coil. But when i first got the mini this morning i first put it on a mini ego 350 mah and it was a total let down to say the least. i would take 3 or 4 draws on it and get very very little vapor from it, i then put it on my ego 1000mah twist and it did about the same,,hmm maybe a little better but not much .. Then i turned up the twist to 4.0 volts and Then it came alive. thats when i looked close and seen that the mini nova had a 2.4 ohm coil in it. so i changed the coil with a 1.8 that came with my larger nova tank and put it back on the mini ego 350 mah and after a few primer puff it was doing as well as it did with the 2.4 at 4 volt on the twist.
So all this tells me for the lower volt device i have i need lower ohm coils and for the higher ohm coils i need higher volts. I am sure this is nothing new to you and you have known this all along but from what i have learned in the short time i have had my mini nova and larger nova tank the Ohm rating Has a Whole lot more effect on this tank then it would on all the other attachments i have used in the past,,carto's, stardusters, and a Mk11 adomizer. the ohm difference did make a change in those but nothing like it does in the nove/mini nova tank.
i made a couple of close up pic's of the coil from my mini nova but my old camera dont make very good close up's so this is the best i could get. hope it helps and good luck.,,Rob.

I had issues with my nova not wicking, the answer for me was to pull one of the silica strands out, that made it wick better, but then I rewicked them all to cotton. If there's too much wick, it chokes at the slot that holds the wick. I also removed those sleeves when I rewicked, and it seemed to help it as well. I think the sleeve was there answer to the legs getting hot.

After some trial and error, yes. You can't dry burn, but you don't have pieces of the wick breaking off either. Took me a couple of tries to get the wick right. I was getting too thick and it was choking, and the wick would get dry and burn. If you burn cotton, you get to replace the wick. Once I got the wicks right, and it wasn't choking, I cannot get this thing to dry out, even after repeated long hits in short amount of time. There's a number of threads about other wick materials, I'll try SS mesh eventually, but have enough cotton to last quite a while.

Hey guys , thanks for your input. Dantes I see what looks like a small peice of cloth around the coil /wick assembly. is that supposed to be there ?

I have gone ahead and removed the cloth around the coil, it makes a noticeable difference. Also, i have found it helpful to shave off about 1/8-1/6 inch from the bottom of the silicon cap and adjust where the metal is in the cap. Then, place it slightly where it belongs and screw the top on. The top will puch the cap to where it needs to be but leave a gap which allows much better juice flow and much better flavor and much less chance of burning. Also, this is the best set of mods I have found to do without drilling holes, and I have tried several configs so far.

I have a brand new Vivi nova mini, running the 2.4 ohm head on a Chrom Varitube. I literally just got the thing an hour ago in the mail. One interesting thing to note is that the ohm-reading on my varitube is 2.7 with the 2.4 ohm head on the Nova; Another thing is that as others have found, I also have found that these like to run at a lower voltage as compared to the "standard" of 7 to 8 watts that seems to work best- Right now, I'm at 3.7-4.1v, and anything above that doesn't seem to work well with this particular tank. I guess the moral of the story is that nothing beats experimentation when it comes to new devices and combinations... :)

Wait. You put a regular nova wick/coil in a mini? Thought I read they didn't fit. Love the news if that is the case.
