I'm not sure what the issue is here but its really starting to piss me off. I got a Vivi Nova 2.5, an original not a fake. When first using it I couldn't get any life out of it, I pressed the battery button nothing happened, I then had to poke the center pin up on the battery and in fact I have to do this every time I use it and on different batteries.

The Vivi Nova came with 2 heads, a 1.8 and a 2.4 which was installed. The 2.4 works fine, decent throat hit etc however this decided to stop working after a couple of days, so I expected big things from the 1.8, its a disaster, like smoking an ultra low tar cig, I bought another 1.8 and same thing, I bought an ego twist battery, it gives a burn't taste at anything over 3.8v and anything below is just carp on both 1.8 heads, and why on a brand new battery just charged does the power button seem to sit flashing after every other vape like the battery is going flat?

So I am kind of at the end of my tether with this all. Anyone any advice?

A flashing battery indicates an atomizer problem. My guess is a crap head. I would order new vivi nova heads and see if this resolves the issue. My fiance has problems with his Nova smushing down the center pin- now that he screws it on gently- it makes a tremendous difference! Now he only has to pull up his center pin once in a great while.

On which batteries did you try the Vivi Nova? I ask because the issue with the 510 connector on various devices is pretty common. In a nutshell, the rubber insulator around and underneath the center post on some devices is quite flimsy and allows the center pin to be pushed down into the device, preventing it from making contact with the atomizer positive post. There are several videos on YouTube that explain how to do the "fix" using an O-ring bought from a hardware store.

I actually have two devices that I've had to modify in this manner.

You really shouldn't be having that issue if everything is working as it's supposed to. A few guesses:

1. The center pin of your Ego is shorting to the body because of a worn/damaged/faulty insulator, causing the flashing.

2. You have a wonky Ego battery that is somehow defective, and when you fire it, the battery voltage drops quickly to a voltage below that needed for a decent vape with your tank.

3. There's some other internal fault with the Twist battery.

I have several different Vivi Novas made by different companies (Vision, Champion, and SmokTech) and I enjoy them all on different devices. I do hope you can find an answer...

A common issue with these for me.

When unscrewing the top cap to put in liquid, the coil head can also loosen a bit.
In a way that's good, it shows you had a good seal to prevent leaks...the friction of unscrewing the top just took the head along with it a bit.

Sometimes termperature changes can make it loosen as well (coming in from a cold day).

Knocks and bumps can loosen it some too (pocket juggling/drops/etc).

Make sure the heads are screwed in well enough to maintain contact each time before you put the top back on. It doesn't have to be super tight, just enough to maintain good contact.
