I want to try out a rebuildable tank. The problem is, is that I dont know the difference between rba RTA rda. I have no clue where to start. I just know that I want to. I have seen some of the setups ppl have on here and want to expand on what i have currently. My set up is a Volcano Lavatube V2.5 with a Kanger ProTank 3 DC. I know what the anagrams stand for just not what there purpose or difference really is. So basically I just need pointed in the right direction. I have already spent a good 5 hrs looking for the right info in existing forums to no avail.

Thank you in advance :)

Hi CB,

I don't actually use such devices, but am a little familiar with them being on ECF for awhile. Have you looked at the "New Members Information" subforum that is within this area? That likely is in right direction, but admittedly it is broad.

Otherwise, you could use search field in upper right corner, with advanced search to help filter on terms of interest to you.

Or likely someone with more experience on the devices you ask about will come in here and help with your specific questions.

Hope this helps!

RDA is a Rebuild able Dripping Atomizer it is where you drip the juice onto your coils/wick and vape from there normally about 45 puffs for a 1.0Ohm build and is a great way to try out different juices and experience the full flavor of the juice

RBA is a Rebuild able Atomizer, this branches off into mutiple things but the basics of it are there is a tank to store juice the two branches are the Kayfun style tanks or the gensis style tanks like the Kraken, Steamboy and Squipe.

The first thing before you get into rebuilding is buy yourself an OHm meter you can normally get them for 20 bucks for the 510 connection one, next you would want to learn how to build coils I learned from my local B&M shop and have being doing well ever sense.

Never heard of an RTA so I will let someone else handle that one.

Ok that is basically what I thought. Not too sure i want to invest the money in something i would only be able to get a fraction of the puffs out of with an RDA.
Another thing, my mod has a ohm reader built in with internal short protection. would i still need an Ohm meter?
RTA is essentially the same I think as RBA rebuild able tank atomizer. I have been watching RipTrippers alot and have tested it out rebuilding my PT3 coils here and there.

RBA is a catchall term for rebuildable atomizers and can include anything that can be rebuilt. RTA's have a tank to keep the wick fed (Kayfun, Aqua, Taifun, etc.). RDA's must be manually fed by periodically dripping directly onto the atomizer (IGO series, Trident, Nimbus, etc.). Genesis style atomizers are basically RTA's, but as they are built with a more specific design in mind, they are generally referred to in their own category. These are usually built with rigid wicks made of stainless steel mesh, steel cable, or ceramic (AGA-T, RSST, Kraken, etc.). They rely upon manual tilting, vertical capillary action of the wicking material, or some combination of both to feed juice to the coil.

I always recommend the Kayfun as a great RTA to start with.

RDA-Rebuildable Drip Attomizer, Attomizers in which you DRIP into becauase there is no tank such as the Igo-W, Trident, Nimbus, Patriot and so on.
RBA- Rebuildable Attomizer, Attomizers in , which you can rebuild the coil and wick, but may have a tank system such an the KayFun, RSST and AGA-T2.

First no matter what you decide you want to try, your Lavatube, as well as most any variable voltage device, has a built in protection circuit so you won't be able to build coils less than about 1.2 ohms, so that leaves out sub ohm vaping. Unless you go with a mechanical mod, then you can build whatever coils you want. The advantage to drips, IMHO, is the flavor. You get such great flavor dripping at sub ohm.

Options are plenty, it's just deciding what is for you.

I have a wide range of things I rebuild, which include Protanks 1,2&3, Kayfun and iGO-W dripper. I like the iGO dripper the most because of the clouds and flavor. The Protanks are my on the go devices and after a nice rebuild they cloud nice too. The Kayfun is my newest item and I'm still learning how to get it dialed in. Coil building gets better with each wrap.
