Good to know.....I've been viewing the escribe forums and youtube tutorials. Seem like a number of people complain about their inability to get it to work. And that spaced coils are needed. Right now I've got SS in a Billow 2.5. Very small chamber....won't be able to do space coils there. In fact, I had to throw my first build out because 9 wraps of 26 ga. 316l wouldn't fit. I'm just going roll with what I have.....6 wraps/dual coil. Looking forward to playing with escribe. Already DL'd the software and been looking at videos.

My Therion 133 with the red ostrich back arrived today! Updated the firmware, loaded my DNA 200 settings, and vaping away with my OBS Engine on top.

Updated firmware on my new vt133 and set up a SS build. Watts @50 and temp at 450. It's hitting temp protect after a couple of seconds. Is that normal or should I go to Steam and DL a csv for 316l?

It all depends on the size of the build (Metal Mass). I usually run my dual 2.5mm, 7 wrap coils at 30 watts with 60 watts preheat for 1 second, 5 punch.

Temp Protect just means the coils have reached your set temperature.

Did you update the firmware? If you hook up the mod to Escribe and click on the Device monitor you will see the firmware version at the lower right hand corner:

When I receive a new mod I automatically load up my profiles I use on all my mods. They include csv files. I'm not sure what Lost Vape is using because of that. I'm assuming they use SE files but don't know that for sure.

Cheers,
Steve

Yeah the firmware is up to date. I used Steam engine and DLd a profile that works a lot better. Nice to see my build hit the resistance about exactly in Steam Engine. I suppose I just need to be more patient. Lots to learn and customization to come.

Very nice my friend! When you get a chance, let me know what you think. :toast:

Very pleased. Popped my batteries in, hooked it up to eScribe, completed the firmware update, loaded my general settings/profiles from my other DNA 200s, and reset the battery to the proper setting for the dual 18650s. Less than five minutes to up and running.

The form factor is actually really nice. It feels more "finished" than even the Triade, probably on a par with the aluminum cased Efusion. No button or battery door rattle, and just a sweet vape in TC on a dual 316L setup. Device monitor shows that really smooth 316L behavior since that 1.2 update. Here's a peek.

Just the three variables for easy viewing. Only thing that's puzzling is why it shows 1.2 SP2, when it's the same eScribe that updated my Triade and Efusion to 1.2 SP3. Something I'll have to look into, but I don't want to interrupt my vape. Maybe tomorrow. :)

If you click on help at the top of Escribe. Then click on about Escribe it should say Either V1.2 SP3 or SP4. Mine says SP4 because I added the update for the DNA250 chip. IIRC the 8-5-2016 update was 1.2 SP2, then the one that came out three days later (8-8-2016) was 1.2 SP3
[RECOMMENDED]
*** 2016-08-08 EScribe 1.2 SP3 ***
https://downloads.evolvapor.com/SetupES250.exe (57MB standardalone installer)

If yours is 1.2 SP2, close it and run the installer from the link above.

Steve

That's what's weird. Same Evolv software which upgraded my other 200s to SP3, so not sure why it's showing SP2. I'll get it fixed, but IIRC, the difference elated to some incompatibility with the Vapor Shark, but didn't affect other models. Regardless, I'll figure it out and get it to the latest. I thought SP4 was just needed for the DNA 250 boards.

Yes, that's correct. SP4 is only needed for the DNA250. I updated because I have the Triade DNA250's.

PS If you have V1.2 SP3 then you may need to apply the firmware update to the mod. When you hook up the mod you should see Blue writing near the top left corner of the General Tab that says something like a firmware/service pack update is available - Do you want to install it (I'm going off my memory here so it might not be exact).

Cheers,
Steve

That's what I got when I opened it in eScribe the first time which is why I'm confused, but I might have to just download it again and let run again.

No offense meant and this might sound dumb. If you apply an update don't forget to click on Upload Settings to Device to save it to your mod. It's the only thing I can think of if you applied it but it's not showing up. I'll leave you alone now :D. :toast:

My Triad 250 say's V1.2 SP4, and my Triad 200 say's V1.2 SP3, So is that what is correct? or do I need to update the 200 too? I am not sure what I am doing wrong but when I updated it the battery meter zero's out.
That's correct. The only mods that can be updated to V1.2 SP4 are DNA250's. Mine are the same way.

That is a bug that effects some mods (the battery meter zeroing out). It can be corrected a few different ways.
1. Click on Upload Settings to Device a second time.
2. Perform a soft reboot
3. Wait for the mod to go to sleep
4. With 18650 mods remove the batteries and reinsert them.

It usually only happens after updating and not to all mods. I have one mod that seems to do it after I change settings. It's sort of hit and miss in my experience but once it goes to sleep or you do any of the other things I mentioned, it normally doesn't happen again.

Cheers,
Steve

Noticed your temp graph. I'm setting temp @500 f and I can pull for a few seconds and almost get there (looking at temp ramp up in a mirror lol). Flavorful vape but it is cool. Are you getting a warm vape at your temp?

Ok just discovered my problem. Alluded to in the forums. Spaced coils. Same number of wraps, hand wound (no jig), and I'm lowering the temp and getting a warm satisfying vape. I was pretty surprised I hit the same resistance so I didn't have to change my profile. Interesting.
