I'll chime in for extra heartburn when I switched. Occasionally felt like I had been punched in the chest. Prilosec and more water. Cleared up after a couple of weeks. Obviously if yours doesn't start to clear up or gets worse, seek advice from a qualified medical professional. (There, disclaimer covered :p)

Yea it's not vaping as much as it's not smoking..

It's been known that when you quit smoking you get more cases and stronger cases initially of heartburn. Happened to me the 2-3 times I quit using other methods or cold turkey and as soon as I started burning the analogs again it subsided to it's normal amount.

Vaping and juice may not help it but I bet if you didn't vape it would still be there as strong. Honest opinion but if it worries you and is too severe maybe a doctor check is warranted.

Cheers and hope it gets better!

I have a hiatal hernia which causes reflux and heartburn, and my gastroenterologist is the ONLY doc I have that wants me to cut down on nicotine. I told her I have to finish quitting smoking first.

Nicotine relaxes the sphincter muscle at the top of the stomach. That is why they say not to wear nicotine patches to bed, according to something posted on ECF. Basically, nicotine and being horizontal don't mix well. (One fix is to lift the head of your bed, BTW)

My solution so far (which is only partially-working): lower-nicotine near bedtime, and do everything ELSE done does to prevent reflux, like have heavy protein meals early in the day and a light dinner, make sure I have plenty of roughage, and LEARN TO NEVER ADD FOOD TO A MOUTHFUL IN PROGRESS.

I never realized I ALWAYS do that until I was told not to. Chew thoroughtly swallow, THEN add food to mouth.

I also have to move spicy meals earlier in the day, and I have a choice to EITHER eat a lot OR eat spicy, not both.

I suspect I vape too much, too, because I can do it indoors, unlike smoking.

A walk after meals to let gravity do its thing is also very helpful.

yes, i was getting heartburn in the beginning, and i think it's from ingesting juice-my tank was sputtering a bit as i vaped. i changed the carto out, and no more sputtering...no more heartburn either. if it persists, and tums and pepto don't cure it, you may be allergic to swallowing juice lol.
hope it goes away, and you can continue vaping in peace!

No more than before but I have had acid reflux for a long time. If anything it may be better. Not sure it has anything to do with not smoking but I'm not complaining. Juice will bit you. Got some on my lip and another time on my eyelid. I now wash every thing and wipe everything after filling. That damn juice is sneaky just a small amount on you and woooo. Clean you tips often. Wash your hands. I also wipe my face in case I get some on it and before bed. I get a lot of vapor and I think some of the vapor was getting on the skin on my face. Got red eye a couple of times. Not sure it was from vaping but that was my theory.

Refer to Ictinike's post. SERIOUSLY doubt that it's your juice. You should really read up on what your body will do to you when you quit smoking. Heartburn is one of many things you should expect. I suffered with it for a couple of weeks when I started vaping, but I knew that it was part of my body's process of eliminating decades of toxins. Hang in there! This too shall pass.
