a lot of people don't like the look of the copper, i personally think its beautiful, but i noticed that it would get dirty pretty quickly after I polished it down. So I decided to get some 1 1/2 inch shrink wrap to make it more hassle free and it turned out great!

Now it looks more like a "traditional" mod with the black and silver and it honestly feels great. Very rubbery texture and now it can take a beating like chinese kid. I still love the copper and the mouth activation is second nature, I don't have a pic up yet but I have modified my cartomizers with shrink wrap around the mouth pieces to make it soft for teeth activation, but to still have a hole drip dripping onto the polyfill (i don't like using the condom method).

I've been using shrink wrap on my e cigs for a while now, it makes them dent resistant and allows me to have a grip where I need them.

PM me if you have any questions!

I`d prefer to hit it with some brasso polishing wad stuff every other day for the shiny copper look but that`s just me liking shiny.
You did a fine job with that cover. Looks like it came that way now. Looks like black PVC to me now.
The copper mod is one I have yet to do and my collection really needs one.

Good job, but man, that thing is HUGE!!

surprisingly this thing is very small, i'll post a picture of it in my hand, Grimm Green claims it might be the smallest HV device out there (especially the r2v2), and I've yet to see anything smaller. The fact that its made out of brass gives it that "Big Industrial" look especially in photos

I wish i could've kept up with the brasso, but it was a little depressing watching it tarnish so quickly (less than a day, but this thing is glued to my hand). If you wanted to maintain the brass look I would suggest polishing it to a shine, dipping it in vinegar (acts like sand paper) then spraying on a clear coat. I thought about going that route but i got the "terrorist" glare every once in a while so i went with black. If you get a copper you won't be disappointed, IMO its a cheap 6v device thats nearly indestructible, and the mouth activation is actually adjustable, if you want to press very lightly you screw on the end cap tighter, if you want some travel (making it less likely to activate in your pocket) you screw it on to normal tension.

Check out the photos of it in my hand, there is also shrink wrap on the mouth pieces, with this current setup the mouth activation is like gum in texture, perfect IMO

FYI i'm using cartomizers

That looks nice, I think Im going to try that on my copper mod, but with a different color and thinner wrap. I tried the polish and clearcoat but the coat has since mostly flaked off leaving random dark spots. Looks like Ive been using it like 20 years. May have to make a different cap (801 stead of a 510) since it keeps blowing up the tiny atomizers (510, 901), but then again it did blow up 4-5 older heavily used 801s.

i recommend you purchase some 510 cartomizers, I still have not killed one cartomizer after 1 1/2 months of heavy use. After getting my copper, i killed 2 801 attys and a 901, and quickly realized i needed to change something to save money lols. the cartos will make your refills much less frequent, it'll give you great warm tasty vapor, and most importantly it'll handle 6v like a champ. I used one of my old (bad tasting) cartos for a test, I ran it on fresh batteries for 2 minutes and to my surprise the thing did not die! I have not looked back, I just wish I had back all the time i lost from modding carts, and dripping everywhere =( So if you have a 510 threading on your copper, give 510 cartos a try, litecigusa has them at 5 for $6.75, and its free shipping after $15, if you don't have a 510 threaded copper then madvapes all the adapters for $2.49. Hope this helped!

I restore old vintage and antique razors. Some of the real old ones are brass, but with a copper "cap" on top. Usually the gold has worn off, so the best way to deal with it is to strip off the gold and shine the brass and copper until it looks as good as gold. But it will look like hell in a few weeks if left untreated. There are a couple products I can recommend that will keep these metals shiny for a very long time, months and months. BTW, Brasso is a definite no-no in my book, as is steel wool, etc. Been there done that. Makes me shudder.
I have no interest in either of these, and they aren't the cheapest products out there, but in my biz I need results, and these work great for most metals without being too abrasive for anything tougher than gold. Use a little on your PV and the rest on anything else you have.

The first one is Metalwax. I've use every polish imaginable and I can't recommend this stuff highly enough. I wish I had a distributorship for it. I can't post a link yet, but it's easy enough to figure out.

If you want darn near permanent protection, look at everbritecoatings. Add the dot com to either name.

Check them out. The everbrite comes in a couple formulations. The one you'd want is the one especially made for things that get a lot of contact, like bannisters, railings, door knobs etc. There is a second formulation for exterior architectural details. You'll get the idea on the page.

Don't mean to hijack the thread. Shrink wrap is cool, but I see that a lot of you would rather just be able to keep copper looking good. It's not impossible or difficult (or cheap).
